I can't thank each and every one of you enough for your support, prayers and assistance through this very trying time for our little family..

Today we got up, gave cerenia, checked glucose, (211), gave an ounce (assisted feeding) of food, gave buprenorphine and ursodiol.. We took a rest to make sure we'd keep the food down. At 9:00 we checked glucose (234) and gave metronidazole ( nice frothy mouth followed by projectile vomiting of just a tiny bit of brown fluid).. Thought maybe a touch of food would calm her belly.. And gave 1/2 oz followed by clavamox (it worked without the neck reflex gagging she was doing with the metronidazole alone).. We settled in and began her subcutaneous fluids.. Overall today she looks more alert. She has been to the litter box to urinate, she has been up and walking around the house and offering her little meows every now and then..

Prayers and healing vines continue to be appreciated..

Metro tastes very bitter. Do you have gel capsules? They made my life so much better. The size 3 are a good size. You can get them sometimes at health food stores but call ahead as most don't carry the small ones. The larger the number the smaller the capsule. I bought mine on line. You can get them from Amazon, capsuline.com or thrivingpets.com. I'm glad Booger is home. Vines and prayers continue.

I was going to say the same thing as Elise. Metro also has an after taste that hangs around a bit.

Sending many more prayers for your little girl today.

Thanks for the thoughts on that.. I can tell she hates it! I will look into getting A different form..

Well.. I think there's progress today. She laid around a lot and did much of nothing yesterday. She's had a bm today that looked normal, been much more alert and responsive and acts like she feels "better". To say I think she feels good would be a lie.. But I do think there's improvement. She looks a lot more perky today.. So I'd say she seems to be feeling somewhat better but has a way to go..

This is a good report! It can be hard to tell how they are feeling, especially when meds are in the picture, too. Hooray for normal poo!!!!

I also use the gelcaps that Elise mentioned. They do make life a lot easier....I can get a bunch of meds down Trix all in one shot, and they protect her from the bitter taste of the pills.

You're doing a great job, and we're continuing to send prayers!!

We moved a couch into the house from my husband's moms... It's been claimed..

Queen of all she surveys! So glad to hear she's improving :) I have to know - how did she get her name?

Housekeeping - you've forgotten to include a link to your last post

She was very content.. Until I disrupted her for evening meds... Still didn't want to eat, but did so assisted.

My niece named her after the spot on her nose.. I know, I wish it were more glamorous.. But it stuck and she doesn't mind..

heehee on the name.

she looks very happy to have her very own sofa! I think any improvement is awesome and am so glad to hear she's a little bit perkier today than yesterday.

We wrapped every pill in a little bit of pill pocket, just enough to seal in the taste. punkin took them just fine. The dog duck and pea ones are safe for diabetics.

Well I had written that Metronidazole off for the weekend thinking I'd never be able to get capsules until Monday or Tuesday at best...and then I remembered how sick she really is.. And knew that it's going to take that arsenal of medications to put her back together even if it meant she had to get that one in.. Somehow.. BUT. I pulled out my tiny little vitamin E supplements (organic that I use in making their food), drained 2 of them out, replaced with the nasty stuff she hates so much and popped them right down her sweet little kitty mouth... I am happy to report there was a slight froth on the second one. (Probably from biting down) but no loss of fluids through vomiting.. I will definitely be looking for the more appropriate capsule form.. But in this pinch, it will do..
