1/15 Recap:
AMPS 72 :D +6 195 +9.5 81:D
PMPS 74 :D +6 106 +9 78 :D

I cracked open some HC during the PM so I could get more sleep. She might have been OK after that 78, but I didn't want to get up again and check. It's been a while since the good stuff has been served - both kitties were very excited to see me bring out a can. Lots of early morning dancing in the kitchen today.

Neko hasn't noticed the sunshine yet, she's snoozing in her bed by my feet. I'm almost tempted to disturb her - it's primo solarium weather today and the last one for a while. OT: there are signs of spring - the bulbs are poking up! :)

I got Neko's bloodwork and urinalyis results last night. One word - unremarkable. There was basically no change from a month on benazapril. The only b/w changes were minor and some values out of range that could be from inflammation but not surprising given it was a week from her dental extraction. UPC ratio was exactly the same. Vetty and I agreed we'll try benazapril a couple months longer and if no change, stop the med. On the positive side, this was the second set of tests in a row where both urine and blood glucose were normal. If only I could control the kidney numbers as "easily".

Vines out to all in need today, special helping out to Booger and hugs to Jenn.

Nice greens. :D I hope Neko got to enjoy the sunshine in the solarium. Maybe the benazapril will make a difference after a while.

:D:D Nice bookends for Miss Neko yesterday and a great start today! Isn't unremarkable good? What was your vet expecting the BW to reflect regarding the benazapril? (Blood pressure med, right?)

Ah spring!! Like you said, I noticed today that little snowdrops and crocus are starting to come up, that and the fact that the sun is coming up every so slightly earlier- it was noticibly lighter by 6:30am- Geez did that make my spirits rise a little bit! :joyful: You will be back to rowing before we know it!

Neko had a little surprise in store for me when I got home.

@ Maria, Carla, Ruth - errands done this afternoon. Snow drops are in bloom at the vetty's office - always the first place to have spring flowers. Neko did get out to the solarium. Benazapril is a BP med for dogs, not so much for cats. The intent is to lower her proteinuria. Her urine protein creatinine ratio numbers are in the gray area. According to Tanya's site, reducing proteinuria helps the kidneys. 6 weeks before rowing on the water, the rowing machine is a stop gap measure.

OT: there are signs of spring - the bulbs are poking up! :)
You won't believe this, but I heard a chickadee SINGING this morning (his SONG--not his note). It's the middle of January and it wasn't terribly cold (in the 'teens), but it was still cold winter weather and in our part of the world spring doesn't arrive until the end of April! I think climate change has the birds confused.

Did you get your Concept 2 rowing machine?

Neko, we're glad you got out in the solarium today. We hear that you're in for a big coastal storm this weekend.

Have a great weekend, Wendy.

Ella & Rusty

@ Ella - rower arrived this week. Must have got stuck in a snow storm crossing the country. We've had Anna's hummingbirds stay the winter the last few years, definitely a sign of climate change and confused birds.

Whoaaaaaa, Neko.

Isn't it fun to watch the beans eyes get big when we surprise 'em when they get home! Mama also says some words that I'm too young to say. ... Polly

Spring! Not here yet. But then not winter either. Just the between fall and summer brown. Lots of brown. Anxious for lighter mornings though. Looking forward to getting out with the dog for a good walk between Polly's AM shot and her +3. Dark's o.k., but still too morning damp and cold.

One word - unremarkable.

Love this. Really love this.

Thanks for popping this afternoon Wendy. Guess I'm not as prepared for Polly's surprises as I'd thought!

Marilyn and Polly

Love all those greens on Neko...wow!!

Well the good thing is the UPC didn't go up. maybe the benazepril is working in that respect.

Thanks for the info on the food. The raw I gave her today was raw turkey thighs and wings, turkey heart, turkey liver, organic egg shells. It doesn't say the thighs and wings included bone so I dont know.

@ Marje - UPC Ratio has been the same for the last three tests, only the last one was with benazapril. Time will tell.

@Marilyn - Polly surprised you? Job done!

UPC Ratio has been the same for the last three tests, only the last one was with benazapril.

:oops: Can't say my memory on everyones' tests is that good; don't know why I had it in my head that the one before the last one was different. I was just hoping the benazapril was holding her steady.

Sorry to hear she is drinking more, too. Although, perhaps it is not a pattern? Maybe just a day or two?
