[Monster's Mom]

Good morning all!
Monster is doing great, but I've had quite a couple of days. I'll try to make a long story short.
Yesterday was my sister's birthday and we all had plans to meet up and shop and go eat. Turns out my Mom had a bad night, shivering, unsteady, could barely move. We went to eat and afterward she was still not herself. My sister tried all day to get her to go see the doctor. Finally, we put our foot down and said we're going. Went to the ER, they do some tests and find out she's got an infection somewhere brewing that has tanked her blood pressure and likely turned septic. She is still in the hospital but showing some more positive signs this morning. They did say (this morning) she has a severe kidney infection and that explains why they weren't working last night and where the infection started.
She is up and alert, able to walk now and her blood pressure has come back up. She's back to arguing with the nurses and doctors, being a retired nurse herself, she makes a difficult patient.
I've had to come home last night to take care of my girls but headed back to the hospital today and hopefully find out more good news

Luckily enough, Monster had held her numbers and is still working that dose like an expert. I've been on and trying to check in on what all the kitty's have been up to but haven't had the chance to post until now.

How scary! Thank goodness you got your mother into the hospital. I've had the same when my mother was shivering and it was infection too, though a blood infection. Happened twice but ER saved her. So continue to put your foot down for your mom. She has good daughters.

Oh my! You HAVE had quite a couple of days! I'm glad Monster is being her normal steady self and that you can give your focus to your mother. Sending healing vines for a quick recovery

Monster has spent most of her day today in the 60s, quite flat. A couple of food spikes then right back down.

My Mom is doing a little better. Very tired. Doc says infection is in her bloodstream now so IV antibiotics for now and the next few days most likely. Her blood pressure is still low but not too low. She's anxious to get outta there of course.
