Guess what food KT ate this morning....yep, got into the HC food while I was outside with the big droolers. DH didn't realize it was HC and just served it to him - boy was he in HEAVEN! Now he's payin' the price...poor baby...

Scruffy's (civie with possible CHF) doing better this morning - his body isn't as 'hard' feeling. The fluid pocket on his left flank is still there but it's not as full. I've got call into vet but don't really expect to get to talk to him until later this afternoon. He's walking better but still has weak hocks. We did get another poop last night!

Shopping day - it's SIXTY DEGREES!!! OH WOW!!! Rainy but 60!

OH - today's fun tip! In today's retail market, I've discovered that I can actually get cheaper prices by just ASKING! My parents are giving us new kitchen flooring as a gift but they're not financially much better than we are. It's going to take 7 boxes of the chosen flooring, almost $350 at HomeDepot. When I went in to get it last week, I told the flooring manager that I was buying 7 boxes and would they give me 20 percent off - I GOT 15% OFF!!!! I was going to be happy with even TEN but they gave me FIFTEEN PERCENT!!! Just because I asked!!! Got it all for little over $250!!!! 'Floored me'....

I'm going to repost my last info last night re: Scruffy so Jess can find it easy:

Scruffy seemed to have a tight belly then just pillows of fluid under his skin around his (first) back middle, flanks, (second) full middle, each side of top of spine and pockets hanging in front of flanks (last) chest and one front leg. He wasn't and still isn't tender in any area altho his actual 'body' area is still very tight feeling. Even I could feel the 'fluid' that was there like it was under the skin. That's what's mostly gone.

He still has these issues:

* body area still very tight feeling
* back left leg still has looks a little swelled
* back legs still weak - he reached around and tried to scratch his ear but fell on his back side. Couldn't tell if his other leg buckled or he lost his balance. He just looked indignant afterward.
* Has only pooped NOW twice last few days.
* He still seems to be sort of walking humped a little but no signs of nausea
* When I can distinguish from his purr, his heart seems to be beating very very fast even resting

I have NO medical training - just lots of things that life's thrown at me so please excuse my wierd explanations.

What else would cause this?

Quite a day!! KT, you had a real treat!!

I hope you will get some good info. on Scruffy's issues today, Lyresa. It's good that he's feeling and looking so much better.

Hugs to you, and enjoy "spring" while that balmy weather lasts. Great news on the flooring! I got a similar break last week when I bought my season pass at the x-country ski center. I asked if they might not have a special rate for seniors and I got to pay $50 instead of $75!

KT, honey, you gotta give up the HC. I know you love it but it's not good for you. Hope he comes down as they get processed. Great job on the flooring! Hope Scruffy continues to go. :smile:

Hi guys .. oohhh boy HC!! Don't get to used to that KT! I'm glad to hear that Scruffy is continuing to improve .. 60 degrees, NICE! That's great news on your flooring discount! We just special ordered a new exterior door from them two weeks ago. THIS week, special order doors are 10% off .. will they price adjust for us? Nope. Have a great day!
