1/16 Kitten AMPS 326; +8 277; PMPS 304

This new meter is absolutely FANTASTIC. Now I know what it means to be part of the Vampire Club. I'm actually excited about testing...to think that 4 days ago, I would be crying each time I had to get some blood. So the deal was that when the DH and I were at Walmart, we had the Contour and the Breeze 2 in our hands and the only thing we knew was to go for the one with the smaller blood sample. Rather than reading 0.6ul and 1.0ul, we read 6 and 1...so we went home with the Breeze 2. And I just couldn't figure out why we were so bad at getting a reading. 3/4 of the time it would say, "not enough blood" and 1/4 of the time it would time out and the stupid machine wont let you reinsert the strip...so we just kept wasting strip after strip with no results. Oh man, the tears and the frustration.

So we went out Saturday and got the Contour, and WOW. First time, every time, BAM, reading! Absolutely fantastic. So much more relaxed now. Kit is awesome and totally just sits there. I think he senses that I'm so calm. And I'm even getting those AMPS with no trouble at all...no more stress for morning food. I'm in awe.

So Saturday his dose was updated...there is a gap in numbers for a couple of days there, and that's cuz the comp went down, results are on a piece of paper...piece of paper at the in-laws. Long story short...always purple numbers.

This dose is working mighty fine already. I'm sooooo happy to be seeing yellows. Last week, I never thought this day would come. And I feel so much better knowing that we can actually test to make sure that things are going right. Gonna keep monitoring til next weekend when we can run another curve. See how things are going at that +4 +5 stage cuz its impossible to get that during the week. Must force myself to at least get a +3 at night.

All in all, better start to the week than last week.

I use a Contour with Musette...LOVE IT!! You won't believe how many times you are gonna look at that tiny speck of blood and go "That can't be enough, but what the heck let's try it" then the meter counts down and gives you a reading...lol.

Glad you got a different meter and now are much better at getting those readings, and well you always have the Breeze as a back up if something happens to you new and improved one

I feel so much better too, even tho yesterday I got a "not enough blood" reading and it brought my excitement down - but that's ok...one every once in a while is still a million times better than almost every time.

That error reading was at +3 at night, which I think I got frustrated cuz I was already exhausted...but I guess its all part of creating a routine. I wish the DH wasn't so nervous doing it on his own. That woudl help since he stays up so much later than me.
