Toby is fine this morning. Ate and now taking a nap. Julie if you and Sandy think the R will help I am willing to try it . I already have it. Today after I get home going to boil some chicken breast and try feeding that after his low point. Maybe that might help.I could try the R on Saturday. Let me know what you think. Peg and Toby

Glad that Toby's feeling fine. That's the most important thing.

I've never tried the R. But I know Julie, Sandy, and Suzanne (others, too, perhaps) have used it. You'll have great advisors!

It's best to try R when you'll be home to monitor and have an experienced person around to watch with you. They'll probably suggested starting low (0.1U), so you might want to practice getting that consistently. I know you'll need to test before the R shot and for each hour after that for 4 hours, at least the first few times. You'll have to learn what an R cycle looks like.

exactly what Wendy said. I think it's a good thing to know how to use in case you really need it. At this point i think it's optional, but maybe that is a good time to learn. So let's make a date for Saturday - I'll be around and can monitor you every hour afterwards. I haven't looked to see if you replied on your post from yesterday yet or not (i do miss the "view my posts" feature that let you see if there were follow-up comments) but let me know what time you shoot. I'd suggest we watch for him about +8-+10 and see where his blood sugar is then and if it is rising. That's a good time to try it.

I shoot at 6:15 am+6:15 pm. +8+10 would be 2+4 pm. I am trying to feed more in the beginning of the cycle like you said. I boiled up some chicken breast to feed later in the cycle. Tonight he started out at 250 also am doing 14 units. If I mix some of the chicken breast with his food will that cut the carbs? Peg and Toby

Yes, mixing the two would cut the carbs.

And you're in the eastern time zone, aren't you? So your 2pm is my 11am. I'll look for you on Saturday morning (for me) and see what his BGs look like and if it's reasonable to try it on Saturday.
