Thank you for all of your kind thoughts and vines for Sid. Please keep them coming. I appreciate all of you so much. It makes me feel good and hopeful to know there are people out there that value their cats as much as I do when all I hear from most everyone I know is that if Sid were their cat, they would have euthanized him by now.

Karrie, I did join and post on the pancreatitis group. I've had such a rough day that I haven't been able to read much on there yet. The emergency vet printed a bunch of articles for me too so I have a lot of reading to do.

I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night and have not eaten that well !! When I have a sick cat it consumes me totally.

I picked Sid up from the emergency hospital this morning after last's night scary drop and all day he was acting so bad. I thought for sure he was dying. He just laid there breathing fast with his head on his paws. I was very scared and spent most of the day petting him until I took him back to the emergency hospital to see if his kidneys were permanently failing, etc or if there was anything that could be done. I thought I was going to have to make a hard decision (which I still might). Well, bloodwork shows he is in DKA again and that his kidney values have actually improved (BUN is 44 that's all I know) and his HCT is 26% which is kind of low but not low enough to indicate his kidneys aren't doing what they are supposed to do at least somewhat. His potassium level has also improved. If his pancreas would just get with the program and quit doing this - we might actually be on the road to recovery. I haven't lost hope yet.

Lydia, Sid is a cat, and cats are tough. Come on, Sid. Feel better. You can do it again!

Healing vines, prayers, snowflakes, all on the way tonight. Lydia, try to get some sleep and try to eat something. The KTSS will make a house call and bring you and Sid some chicken soup later.

Hugs,

Ella & Rusty

Ceiling Cat...please give Sid the help he needs to overcome this...

sending love and healing thoughts

We haven't lost hope yet, either...Sid is obviously a fighter, as are you, and you've got the power of LL prayers behind you.

I know how you feel about not being able to sleep or eat when you have a sick cat, but try to remember that if you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of Sid. Eat and sleep!!!

We're thinking of you...

~Amy

Sending Sid and you, feel better vines. Also sending hugs to you, for being such a good person, and healing snowflakes to Sid. Come on Sid, let's fight this one off.

Keeping you and Sid in my thoughts. DKA again - you know how to fight this? Is he eating okay?

Sending you big hugs. Hang in there. Every minute/hour/day is a gift to treasure.

Sending prayers, healing vines & snowflakes for Sid, strength and wisdom vines for you, Lydia.

Tawny wants Sid to know that she was DKA 3 times in 6 weeks and really sick with all kinds of other issues too in late 2011 and today she is healthy and happy again, eating lots and purring and gaining weight, and that if she can get better & be healthy Sid can too! Tawny is sending extra special vines for Sid.

Sid is a fighter and he's still got lots left in him. Keeping you both in our prayers, Lydia. Hope you can get some rest while he's in the clinic.

Keep fighting Sid, we know you can do it. You've got to do it for Lydia or she's going to end up sick too. Sending more healing vines your way, and more and more and more until you get better.

I'm sorry that sid is so sick  We are all sending him extra get well thoughts in this house .. and make sure you take care of yourself too :YMHUG:
