Yesterday's Condo

Sunny numbers seem to be hanging around. I told the kitties that we're moving in about 2 weeks. I'm using the proceeds from the sale of my sister's place to purchase a condo about a mile from where I currently live. It's a beautiful place. I hope the kitties appreciate that in the middle of the condo is a completely private courtyard that floods the place with sunlight and is open to the master bedroom, living room, and dining room. (I'm on the fence about letting the cats have access to outside.

That sounds like an awesome kitty mansion!

Kitties don't focus on the move, focus on the after you get there - your own private garden - whoo hoo

How exciting. A move. Kitties, it's a short move, easy...well, easier.

The courtyard sounds fantastic.

Oh, how the Adventures of Gabby and Gizmo can expand.

The new place sounds wonderful. I'd be on the fence about letting them out, too.....even with the privacy, they can pick things up. Yep, I'm a super-paranoid over-protective MamaBean ! Even if they don't go out, they will have spectacular views!

Amy - your concern is the same as mine. I'm thinking fleas and who knows what else. OTOH, letting the Norwegian Forest Cat out to play in the snow may be OK. It can do amazing things for their coat. Although, knowing Gizmo, he'd walk out once, look at me like I'm crazy, and never go outside again!

Congrats on the new place. I'm sure your sister is happy to know you are doing this.

I will be interested to hear what you decide on the courtyard, particularly with Gizmo and snow. My DH has wanted to take Minka (who is a Siberian) up to the snow as long as we have had her, but we've never done it. I wonder if they would instinctively recognize it as normal or be freaked out? Please keep us posted.

Nice slide, Gabby, but easy does it. There is no hurry. Plenty of room in the lagoon for everyone!

How exciting! And how nice of the cats to allow you to live in their new home. Obviously you'll be there in the capacity of servant. :)
