I am late in posting - I've been cleaning the house. Ugg. We have abandoned the food box for Blackie. We tried it again yesterday and DH saw Blackie pee in the box while he was eating. ohmygod_smile And then this morning he peed right outside the LB. So I'm wondering if he doesn't have a UTI on top of everything else.

Blackie has been eating pretty well and he seems to feel okay. He even went outside for about 20 minutes yesterday with DH. I started the Denamarin day before yesterday and I hope this will make him feel better too. He's been getting fluids bid, but I have cut back on the Bup. After losing his PZI buddies Buzz and Bix (Fly free Bix), I am even more paranoid about losing Blackie.

My heart goes out to Joanna and Bix this morning.

(((((Ele))))) I like to think the kitties only communicate psychically on the good stuff, and they let the bad stuff go. If Blackie braved the outdoors (brrrrr!) & is eating well he must be feeling ok, and that is what matters. Thank you for the warm thoughts. Hugs to Blackie.

I opened a new Lantus pen tonight. I don't know if the dose isn't high enough, if Blackie has a UTI or if the old pen was shot. It was more than 28 days old and we don't usually get more than that. Once again, Blackie would only eat a little of his food at shot time. I'm going to give fluids and see if he'll eat after that.

Ele, I hope that you can get a handle on what is going on with Blackie. Continuing to send healing vines, good thoughts, and prayers that Blackie will be OK.

Sending hugs!!! Has he had a urinary infection before? Sorry you had to abandon the food box - it was a really neat idea. Does chicken dust on the food tempt him at all to eat?

Thanks for letting me know about the azodyl...I didn't find it helpful either but I know some swear by it.
