Same blood, could I have a bad meter
there is no way I could trust the relion now...
this is insane,

so i just went to redo and I used the relion first and I got a 292
and then the alphatrack I got a 298.
same blood all the time, maybe I need to use the relion first on the pmps
to see, maybe because I used it second there was not enough blood or something...
 
I'm thinking that first relion test was something "wrong" with the strip. You're right, it's going to make you crazy, Denise. I got some funky numbers once in a while with the Relion, and it always seemed to happen when there was too much blood, and the strip didn't "sip" it up, but pretty much drowned in it. EVERY time I got a number that seemed to make no sense at all, I immediately tested again. Bob wasn't really thrilled with that, but it sure made me feel better (even when the 2nd test verified the first one). I just gave him another shrimp and told him to shut the hell up!
 
This is why I put the Alpha Trak away the first time, it will drive you nutz :shock:
Is there any way you could take both meters to you vet and test it against what they use? I am going to do that next week if possible. Would it be helpful to test both meters on the alpha trak control solution? I know we are both really second guessing all of this, but we got burned once so I guess it’s natural.
 
My vet uses alpha track so I dont think it would make sense to test against another alpha track.
I am thinking I will continue to double test for a while until I am confortable... :YMSIGH:
 
I guess the only thing it would tell you is if your alpha trak is off a bit from other ones. It is crazy, with the 20% + or - thing, it makes you even more unsure. I think we are closer with the Relions than our freestyles. And we are looking for trends, knowing the actual numbers may be a bit different.

Also wondered how you guys are doing with the dose increase. Wanted to mention we went up to 3.8 this morning and so far he’s having a good day, in blues this afternoon.
I wanted to hold at 3.6 for a while but just couldn’t seeing red and pink. Our boys seem similar so I wanted you to know what we’re doing. The SS is updated.

I raised Shakes to 3.7 today andhe is having a very flat day
Not sure where to go from here, maybe hold the 3.7 for another day or so then raise again.
the reds and pinks are drinving me nuts, which is why I raised again.
I guess we shall see, hopefully we can get them down fast again
 
We just had a pmps of 184 on the 3.8 today. Dunno if I wanna shoot that high into a blue yet since everything has changed, so we are going back to 3.6 again for tonight.
 
That might be a good idea...stick with 3.6 for a little while
shakes +7 was 298 so I am assuming he will be very high
just about to check now
