So elated to report that Darwin ate quite a good breakfast this morning! He was meowing for us when our alarms went off, so we were a bit worried, but he came right into the kitchen and ate without hesitation!! :cat:

He also took his Clavamox pill like quite the champ! He didn’t love it, but he wasn’t immediately angry like he was with his Orbax liquid last night - yay!

Thank you all so very much for you kind words, support and advice - I really, really appreciate each and every one of you, and am so grateful for the support!!! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending vines to all the kitties and humans in need of them!!

Hooray for eating! Keep up the good work, Darwin!

I'm sure the pilling is so quick it must be preferable to having a nasty taste in his mouth that's probably hard to get rid of. ;)

Hope he continues to eat and feel better. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you all for your continued thoughts, prayers and friendship! :bighug:

Darwin seems to be in better spirits today, and his appetite is much improved! First day he's eaten a GOOD midday snack, and he ate about 1/2 of his dinner. I witnessed him have diarrhea last night (maybe from the antibiotics, maybe from stress?), but I didn't find any of that in the litterboxes tonight so I am hoping it doesn't continue. I'd like to get him back on his FortiFlora (& Lysine), but I'm leery of mixing anything in the food until he is eating very consistently again.

PMBG=49. :D

Yay! Good Darwin report! I would hesitate to mix anything in his food too with his spotty eating. I hope he starts eating better soon so you can get the back end stuff sorted! ;)

Glad he's doing better and that the pills are working out better than the liquid. None of mine like the liquid (not that they like the pills, either, but pills are so much easier to give!) meds, either. The diarrhea could well be from the AB, it's not uncommon. If he likes the FortiFlora, it should be okay to add it back to his food; for some cats it actually works like an appy stimulant, because they really like the taste of it. For a looong time, the only way I could get my little rescue kitty to eat was to sprinkle FortiFlora on top of her food. :bighug:

The pills have been so much better! I’m not sure I could have done them when he had teeth, but maybe - I never tried!

He normally loves his FortiFlora, but he refused it when he wasn’t eating so I’m afraid he’s off the taste of it at the moment. I may mix a bit in some food tomorrow, and see what he does. He’s eaten almost normally today!
