Morning! Wanted to check in and say that Sumo has been doing his norm with up and down numbers. His BG dropped into the 40's on both Jan 2 and Jan 5, so he earned dose reductions and is currently on 1.5units. Thursday AMPS was 348 and he was 55 at +6. So big drops! I just received the automatic feeder that I ordered from Amazon to try and curb those big insulin drops, but Sumo does not want anything to do with the feeder. He will eat just a bite and the walk away and rub against my leg. I guess his way of telling me "OK I tried this new thing" now can I have my regular bowl back, pleeeeeze! I will continue to work with him on this. He continues to suffer with his neuropathy, methyl B-12 has not been effective so far, but will continue dosing this in his am feedings. He just had his 2 month anniversary on Lantus and I am hoping to see better regulation in time. My schedule has been a bit upside down lately and I have not been posting as much as I'd like, but Sumo still gets all of the love and attention he can handle :-)

You're doing a great job! Sumo is a bit bouncy but hopefully, the bounces will be shorter and shorter.

If you can find a glass or china plate/bowl that will fit in the feeder that may help.

I don't remember when you started the methyl b-12. It can take a while to start really working -- at least a month.

Thanks Sienne, great idea about a china bowl instead of the square plastics ones that came with the feeder! I will give it a try.
 
Zener was having problems with peripheral neuropathy and walking on his wrists. We started giving him zobaline. I can't remember how long it took (quite a while, like more than a month) but he isn't walking on his wrists at all now. I hope the b12 does the same for Sumo.

Missed you Kiddo!!! Where have you been?? Listen Looked at your SS & he is just bouncing from that 55 the other day & is now coming out of it--Try to come on as often as you can--Regulation will help the neuropathy, but you cant expect it in 2 months--Patience pants for you??
