Hi Everyone,

Just checking in briefly and will return later. Our snow is all ice and it is impossible to do anything in it, so I'm working on my lecture and getting caught up with other stuff. Rusty had a good night, but didn't like his choice for breakfast (apparently). Lunch was better (FF T&G). At the moment the Chef is getting his menu together for Trouble's OTJ party tonight while listening to the Met broadcast of "La Boheme".

Wishing all a good weekend and sending vines to all kitties and beans in need,

Hi Ella :coffee::coffee::coffee:

wow Rusty, look at you! The lagoon meister has been busy patrolling the waters of the lagoon. Well done! Deputy China sure is a good assistant. Keep up the good work!

Your weather sounds brutal. All that ice... I've never been an ice fan. Snow can be great, but ice? ah... no. I hope things improve some. We are in another cold spell here, so unusual for us. Third one since mid December. We're down to 20 at night, not much above 32 during the day. Us poor "Seattle-ites" don't know what to do...:eek::rolleyes: I think we've had about five or so "snow events" too, but not too significant. Nothing like Portland that is under feet of snow... Things should start to warm up next week, mid week. Paws crossed! I've been out when I could, but after catching a cold that William brought home, activities have been limited. :facepalm: One nasty cold! I will be glad when all this cold leaves us. and all of us are healthy. :)

Lola's, and Bug and Vanessa, catio build ha been rescheduled for 1/24 - 26. The original dates were snow days, and very cold days, and well... I told them they could postpone until weather improved some. That week it may be in the 40's and sunny. YAY! It should be a beautiful catio, can't wait to see her, and the others, in it. :cat: In the meantime Bug and Vanessa are doing well. Lola has sharpened her escaping skills. She got out one night, never did see her bolt out when I came in. 2.5 hours later we heard this bam bam bam on the deck slider. omg, it was Lola telling us she had had enough of her grand adventure, and wanted back in. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: That catio cannot be built soon enough..... :eek::nailbiting::rolleyes::):):)

All else is well here. DH is doing well, had his cataract surgery, that went well, and his vision in that eye should be close to 20/30 when all is said and done. All else for him is coming along. Another oncology scan in a month. Nicholas and William are doing great. Nicholas is really excelling in school. loves going. William is right there with him. They are still in the pool, loving that too. We have our normal adventures when time allows.

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Thanks for all your news, @Michelle and Mannie (GA) ! Too bad about your cold, and about the unusual cold weather, but the rest of the report is great. Wow, the catio will be so appreciated by Lola (and maybe by Bug and Vanessa, too). You'll have to post pictures, as Carla has said. Too bad you haven't been able to get out on too many hikes, but you'll be really ready when the weather improves. I'm so glad the boys are enjoying school. Your DH must be so happy to be able to see again. Is he going to have the other eye done, too? My sister had both hers done, but opted not to have her vision corrected. She didn't know how she would live without the glasses she's worn practically all her life (if I ever have mine done, I think I would feel the same: also, I like having really good close-up vision (without my glasses). I can see stuff no one else can without magnification.

Hang in there in your atypical Seattle winter!

Hugs and scritches,

sorry too to hijack your condo Ella.... ;)

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) , @carfurby ~~ a big YES on the catio post, I will for sure post photos, and hopefully videos, as this is installed and finished. All of us are so looking forward to having this for the kitties, especially our master escape artist. I am certain she will love it, and really hope she can teach Bug and Vanessa how to use a cat door. Paws are crossed! I had confirmation email last night, materials will be delivered this coming Monday, and they start the build on Tuesday. I am grateful that so far the weather gods are on our side, and we are looking at somewhat sunny skies, little rain, and temps in the upper 40's! :joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful: Our hope is that this will give Lola the outdoor time she so obviously needs. Years past our kitties were always given outdoor access, but as time has gone by we are just not home for any length of time to do that. So our furkids had to become indoor furkids. Mannie and Elsa ere out last outdoor adventurers. The only good thing about Lola's escape the other night was that she did come home, knew how to get there from far away (I have no doubt she visited the neighborhood, much the same way Elsa did) and chose a spot where she knew we'd hear her. I truly had no idea that she was out, as it is not uncommon for her to find a spot off the beaten path to take her cat naps. We are always looking for her.... :rolleyes: THX both of you for DH well wishes. Things are coming along, although still very slowly. His vision is much better, surgery was a success. Ella, he may have the other eye done when it is needed. the cataract in that eye is extremely small, and they all want to wait. Probably at least another year if not longer. He will get new glasses sometime in February, as contact lenses are not an option for him, due to dexterity issues with his hands. I hear your sister. I too, as DH, have worn glasses all our lives. Glasses is the best option for him. Cool on your up close vision! Wish I could say that... :rolleyes: mine's ok, just not outstanding. ;) Thank you both too on the boys. I am grateful for them, they have been a joy. We all look forward to more grand adventures, and hope the weather allows that sooner than later, as well as Nicholas's school schedule. He is such a busy boy! Well, William too! :cool::cool::cool: Have a great week!
