Neko and I just got back from her dental recheck. Most importantly, the biopsy of the growth is all clear. :woot: It was just the body trying to heal itself. Second bit of good news - we are now done with the AB! :) She's still a bit swollen in the mouth, although hard to say what is acromegaly growth and what is inflammation, but there is a bit of indentation on her gum that is the result of an upper tooth rubbing against the gum. I saw a different dental vet today, cause the one that did the surgery is teaching this week. She did show me the swelling on one side so now I know what to look for. We did talk about the tooth grinding and options going forward. We also had a good chat about natural teeth cleaners (instead of treats). All in all, a good visit, even if I did have to drive into the fog on the other side of the bridge.

So I'm pretty sure Neko is pissed at me right now. We did a quick trip to her regular vetty for urine and blood draw. This is a follow up to her proteinuria and starting benazapril. When I went to get her, she was lying in the solarium in her basket, head upside down, one eye cracked open "what do you want human!?". I've promised her no more vetty visits for weeks. And she just got some freeze dried duck tongue for a treat.

@ Elise, Amy, Peg, Ann, Suki, Anne, Sienne, Lyresa, Ella, Carla, Maria, Chris, Serryn, Sandy, Suzanne, Rhiannon, Julie - Thanks so much for sharing my joy today. No matter how much I tried not to think of the biopsy, of course it was there worrying at me since last week. When we were at the dental vetty, she asked if Neko liked treats and was about to offer a Greenie dental treat. So I stopped her and we talked about non sugar treats. Nothing really new - chicken gizzards lightly cooked, raw chicken necks, good chewy freeze dried treats like Neko's duck tongues. My (and Neko's) all time fav, the FD quail necks are no longer available.
 
Yes!!! So glad the news is sooooo good. I'll spend the evening trying to uncross everything that everyone here had crossed. Whooooooooooooohoooooooooooooo. Going to be singing.

:bighug::bighug::bighug:Fantastic report for Miss Neko today- having a biopsy is the pits(at least it is for humans!) And waiting for the results is absolute torture- I could not be happier for you Wendy- I hope you are out celebrating! And not at home snacking on duck tongues or quail necks LOL! :smuggrin::p

Blue cycle with green bookends, love the PS nadir! We got a big package from UPS today - Neko loves the cardboard. :)

@ Laura, Marilyn, Ruth - Yup, waiting is the worst. Now I'm waiting for her urine and b/w results, but it seems anti-climatic after today's news. Ruth - lots of history behind the quails necks, even Liz lived to tell the tale. ;) With barely a mark on her fingers. :oops:
