Happy New Year to all!!

It has been a while no posting on the Forum.
As BJM suggested, I gave Jessica Forti Flora probiotic. Her stool has improved a lot and not that stinky.
One thing hasn't been changed is her appetite. She still needs total 7 to 8 cans of FF classic (3.2ozs) per day.
Now, I add some chicken that I've grinded into very fine pieces and mixed it with can food.
It's working fine and her stool seems look normal.
Will try to increase the portion of chicken, see if it will cause her diarrhea.
Her dose have been reduced since last visit to vet but I think I need to increase the dosage soon, since I don't see any green now.
Still work on the Acro (IGF-1) & IAA test. Very busy and tire for the last couple of weeks.

The appetite thing is not surprising ... until you reach the good dose, you will see that hunger.
My two got up to 24oz and 30oz most days, but once their good doses were reached, their hunger lessened.

For the B12, you may want to stay with weekly shots; my Shadoe did improve a great deal with less inflammations and no major pancreatitis flares with weekly shots.

With most insulin resistance, you will see a fluctuation in dose needs because the need for insulin is not due to any pancreas issues at all. Tests for IGF-1 and IAA will let you know if you need to be more aggressive if tests show IAA only, but otherwise, just see if you can go with 6 cycles at a dose, then change as needed.

Yay on the improvement in her poop! That's a huge improvement! Fortiflora can make a big difference with some cats. it's easy to get and easy to add to her food. Glad it's helping. If she isn't digesting well she also isn't getting the calories and nutrition in from what she's eating. That might be contributing to her appetite as well.

I think you really have to be careful with increasing her dose, frankie. Without mid-day-cycle tests you just don't know what she's doing in the middle of the day. She might be getting into greens every day.

Is there any way you can get one in the day too? Even just one test like you did on 1/4 helps us see what's going on with the dose and can make it safer to make decisions about increasing or decreasing her dose.

You're doing a great job getting that night-cycle tests, though! Sounds like she's doing better overall! Hope you guys are enjoying your weekend!

Hi Gayle,

Thank you for your advice. I gave her B12 injection last night. It seems that her GI issue has worsen since I skipped weekly B12 injection.
I will start giving her weekly B12 injection again, hope it can help.

Julie,

I will try my best to take mid-day test. Yes, I will be very careful on every dose increase.
As a matter of fact, the BG test on Jessica has always been food influence, since I can't take a test if I didn't give her some food. I actually have timed feeder set at AM +4 +6 +8.5 and PM +3 +7 +8.5.
I know it will influence the test result but I have no choice. She always asking for food every hour.

Frankie, it's ok to feed and test at the same time. We don't like for them to eat for 2 hours prior to AMPS and PMPS, but it looks like you're last feeding is at +8.5 so that's fine.

Lots of us test/shoot/feed all at the same time. It takes longer than a few minutes for the food to effect the numbers, so if you can put a little food down, test and shoot all within about 10 minutes, the food wouldn't have time to get into her bloodstream anyway

Hope you see some better numbers soon! Great news on the poop issues! Glad the Forti Flora is helping!
