Cute None of my cats ever liked to wear clothes, though I did get Squishy Merlin to wear socks once when he had TOTP :lol:

Did everyone survive Friday the 13th? Nothing bad happened here. Civies are still in one piece and driving me nuts @-) But what else is new? :razz: I bought Leroy a pot of cat grass and he went bonkers over it. I got a video of him munching on grass. Fortuntately he threw up after I turned the camera off @-) Emma doesn't care for grass.

Can I share a bit of good news? :smile: So last year my supervisor mentioned to me that one of our customers might be looking for a person to manage some projects. I thought it was cool and didn't think too much of it. Two days ago my supervisor met with the customer and her boss and discussed projects and stuff for the future. The customer and her boss are in need this year for a project manager person and they both had one person in mind -- me Which doesn't come as a huge surprise because I've been working with the customer with various things for the past 6 years. My supervisor told me about this yesterday. The customer doesn't need a response right away but I'll probably give one early next week. It's a good opportunity :smile: It's the last market share my team has yet to claim. I would stay in my current department and position and take on the new role while some of my other work gets shuffled to other co-workers. Maybe this year I'll get that elusive promotion nailbite_smile

And I might be sharing a corner office this year :smile: That's the talk right now anyways. My manager wants to take over my teams' desk space for his own team beause he has big plans to expand. He wants to move my team from our current location in the basement up to the floor where all our work is (make sense) and we would share the current supervisors' corner office with our supervisor. The other supervisor who is currently there has to move, though, and rumor is that her manager isn't willing to to do that :? So we'll see. It would be nice to move out of the cold, noisy (3 other teams share the space and it gets LOUD at times) basement office and up to where our work is. Right now it's such a PITA to trek up and down (even with our dedicated elevator) to get stuff from our desks or locker. The corner office space is pretty big, sunny, and, if you're lucky enough to be looking out the window when the circus comes to town, you can see the elephants being unloaded from the trains that are parked on the tracks one building away

I interviewed yesterday for Regional Project Manager for a Large hospital network
(indeed, the main customer is the hospital that booted poor Binksy's butt out when he tried to visit
his aunt)
But I must say, this is a position i would be THRILLED to land.

the only 'outfit' I've ever captured Binks in on camera is him sporting his pink feather boa...
Likelihood is that Luna may want to borrow it for her date with Atlas
But MJ caught him wearing an award-winning evening gown :lol

well, i feel kinda sad for my punkin and anya. neither has a single cute outfit to sport for the occasion. i may have to see what i can round-up (get it? round up?) ;-) for the little ones. i'll consider options and report back later!

my neighbor stopped me in the driveway yesterday to chat, and his dog suddenly went medieval on me and bit my hand
four times. :shock:
I went to high school with this guy, and didn't like him then...and if i sub in dog classes again, this mutt is NOT invited! :lol:
Poor lil Binks was at the screen door yelling "BADDOG!! BADDOG!!"

Thanks, Julie So far the new year is starting off pretty well at work :smile: My team has a new person starting on Monday and we're really hoping she can help turn around the negative image that we have because of two former team members. Unfortunately next week is an off-week for HR orientation and and other trainings so the new person is going to have to shadow the team around but she isn't allowed to touch anything :?

I am looking forward to the new role It probably won't happen right away. The person I'll be managing projects for just went on a 3 week vacation. But that gives my supervisor time to figure out who he can shuffle some of my work off to.

Thanks I was up for a promotion a few years ago. It was between me and another person on my team and the promotion went to the other person. And only because she was more social and talkative and well-liked than me :? I was told was that I was too "quiet" and lacked "communication skills" and I was a "mystery" to others confused_cat But management now is different ( I hope nailbite_smile ). My manager is well aware of my accomplishments I have done lately and I'm sure he has heard by now of the new role that the customer is offering to me. So more good stuff to consider when deciding who to promote :smile:

I figured that's what you meant :lol: The basement office does have a little window but it's up at the ceiling at street level and kind of partially blocked by a dropped ceiling/wall thing a foot away from it so not much light comes in. When I started the job, it was a break room and had a kitchenette area and a huge table. In the past few years it's been remodeled and turned into an office.

The only bad thing about the corner office is that it's right next to a locker room. Everytime the toilet flushes, it can be heard (loudly) in the office :shock: it drives my supervisor nuts sometimes.

psst - beth - if you were to update the subject line to 1/15, we could have this condo the whole weekend. it feels pretty cozy in here! ;-) maybe there are others who would add pics - and we still haven't heard if CD is in hawaii!

squeem - there's a book that i used with a couple of my youth groups a few years ago called "last child in the woods" about how kids with ADD/ADHD can pay attention better if they can at least see the outdoors. the best attention is if they are actually outside, but at least seeing out helps. and of course, florescent lights are the very worse for brains to be able to concentrate. when i'm at home, cat-locked into my fav chair, i'm right next to the giant windows to our deck. it's peaceful. i had a couple of summer jobs while i was in college inside a mall and thought it was the worst - you enter the cave in the morning when it's barely light and you're in the cave til nightfall. i hated that part, although i liked working retail, for the most part. hopefully the windows will be a greater pay-off than having to put up with the flushing! :lol:

Lol :lol: I think it will :lol: These aren't normal sized windows. These are at least 8 ft tall windows The building used to be a candy factory. One set of windows faces south and the other set faces west so lots of sun inthe office The west facing windows run the entire length of the hall in the facility so in the afternoons it gets unbelievable bright and very warm In the summer the hallway is a bright sauna and in the winter, when there's snow outside, it's a little snow-blinding. The office windows have shades that can be pulled down if the sun is too bright to handle.
