Hi LL Friends!

I can only stay on for a short note as I can't sit upright on the computer for long. This is the first day I was able to right. I've been severely ill with flu and complications! I've been sick with the flu portion of this for about 3 weeks already and just started breathing well enough to eat, talk easily and actually walk by myself 2 days ago. Everyday Im finally getting stronger. I was unable to breathe at all and kept passing out, running 102 temp & got a copd episode with the flu & bronchitis. I finally wound up in hospital though I fought it because of Racci. DH finally took me and learned what he could about caring for Racci.

My poor little trooper got through this mess ok so far by keeping her a little high most of the time. She's a real tough little trooper. Her meds have been late, shots given badly, today she's not eating well, poor bottom and bottom fur which was so smooth and pretty is now a little rough and raggedy and she's had dirty litter sometimes which she's totally unused to! I haven't been able to test often. I can't lift her or we both fall! If she wont come to me somtimes it can't get done, controlling her with food. :YMSIGH: nailbite_smile Very nervewracking!

Any rate, I have to go. can''t sit here anymore. will be back when I'm stronger. I miss you all!!!! I hope you're all well. Don't catch this flu!!!

I'm sorry you've been so sick, Melanie...many prayers coming out to all of you. Rest and take care of yourself!!

Please take care of yourself. Racci is incredibly smart and she will respond to what you need her to do for treats!

Melanie, so sorry for all you're going thru with the flu and bronchitis and COPD. I must make it much worse for you adding to it the COPD. Racci sure is keeping her nice greens. :mrgreen: Yes, please do take good care of yourself. Sounds like DH is doing the best he can. Sending lots of healing vines and hugs. Give little Racci some scritches from me.

(((Melanie))) Sending you lots of hugs and a beautiful bouquet of healing vines. We are so sorry that you have been so sick. I'm sure your DH is doing the best he can with Racci, and it will become easier for him as he goes along. Trust DH and Racci to muddle through and concentrate on getting yourself all better.

Melanie, I'm sending tons of healing vines and prayers for your recovery.
Racci seems to be doing quite well, and probably giggling kitty giggles over daddybeans efforts.
Sounds like he's getting the job done. :smile:

(((Melanie))) I'm so sorry to hear you have been so ill. I wondered where you had got to and should have suspected you were sick. But to be so deathly ill and in the hospital! I'm glad you err home with your little sweetheart. I think her numbers look pretty good!

Sending you many hugs and prayers to feel better soon. Take it easy as you are recuperating.

Hi Amy, Sienne & Ann!

Its so nice to talk to you. If I wasn't so exhausted and dozing off or coughing, I'd be bored to death! I sure never thought I'd wind up in the hospital over the flu! :lol:

You're right, Ann. It is a real complication having the copd! I also didn't mention that my autoimmune disease gave me and still is, real problems because I can't take any decongestants or anything that dries my throat & eyes. I tried Mucinex because I can usually get away with that one, because I was so sick and it's so dire a situation with the breathing but had an auto-immune reaction. My throat swelled, including nasal passages and mouth, eyes, etc and the breathing got worse! I just can't get rid of the mucus because I'm not strong enough to try any strong meds for that again yet. {I'm only 89 lbs now! and need to get back up to about 100 before I chance another reaction from an experiment!).

Sienne, you're so right about Racci being smart enough and knowing what needs to be done for her health, but the only problem is she's upset because things are different and I'm sick and worrying her. She doesn't like it that I'm not spoiling her as usual and that I can't carry her from one room to another when it's meds time and she's rebelling! Instead of helping me, she's making things harder by refusing to come when I call and then refusing to come with me to her meds. She's calling me just as hard for urine as for poo so I get up to clean her instead of letting me rest when I can since she only needs to be cleaned for poo, and being fussy about eating and where she gets her meds. It's typical behavior for an upset confused cat, you know what I mean. Unfortunately, I'm just not feeling well enough to deal with it whereas usually I'd have her settled down in no time. sigh

Thank you all so much! I hate to be boring but it feels good to talk about it. What a nightmare being this sick for this long with such a helpless little baby who depends solely on you and no one to help! It is the scariest thing to not be able to breathe to the point that you pass out and feel like you're going to die also! I've had some really weird things happen to me and been really sick to the point where I was given 10% chance of survival in the past and still knew I was going to make it and wasn't that scared as this time!!

Wow! So many of you visited! Thank you Liz, Marje, Rhiannon, Ella & Barb for all your healinng vines, well wishes & prayers. It's too bad I couldn't get word to you sooner. I'll probably start getting better quickly now with the power of Lantus healing vines, wishes and prayers. :razz: Thank you so much!

Poor Racci is in sad shape as far as looks go. I just gave her the start of a brushing and I can't believe all the things stuck in her poor tail! :lol: She does have low numbers today though. She's been maintaining her low numbers pretty low in spite of the screwed up times of shots & bad measuring and dirty conditions. She's spending a lot of time in blue numbers which is what I wanted though since I couldn't trust myself to wake or even be here, when needed and DH forgets all the time & is late. She's okay though luckily.

Oh my Melaine! Sorry that you got that nasty flu, hope you get better soon. Be sure to drink lots of fluid & more resting time.

Thank you Helen! I'm going to try to. I got too excited by being online yesterday and overdid and feel worse again today so I will order Racci's methyl B12 like I was suppposed to and update ss if I can and go back to bed.

Racci is starting to act better and listened to me & came when I called her for meds today. :smile: She must be less worried about her little life being upside down, poor baby. After losing her Calli I'm sure it's really scary to see me that sick.

(((Melanie))), you sound a bit better today. I'm glad Racci is responding better today too. It's so hard on the kitties, when their routine is changed. Not to mention, your own.

oh wow, so sorry to hear how sick you've been! Racci will survive with a little bit of messy fur for awhile .. don't overdue anything and get tons and tons of rest :YMHUG:
 
Oh, Melanie - bless your heart! I'm sooo sorry to hear you've been so sick. Will definitely be praying for you. Glad Racci is being a sweet girl for you. Just do what HAS to be done and leave everything else until you're feeling better.
