I'm dying here because I was toast 7 hours ago because I did too much today, but Pumbaa had a PMPS of 102, and even though I fed him 14% carbed food, he still dropped down to 77 at PM +3.5. I've been trying to catch him ever since, after I gave him 19% at PM +3.5, but he's being very uncooperative, and I'm too tired/sick/weak to fight him much on this chasing game. I did a good job of outsmarting him several times in my sick and feverished state, and I was proud of this. He's outsmarted me tonight, unfortunately.
All I can do to try and survive the flu and deal with Pumbaa is to keep giving him higher carbed food to keep his numbers up so I can try and get some sleep so I can get healthy again. And, I need to stop doing too much too soon, and having recovery setbacks. Damn, I wish my parents would not have raised us kids to be over achievers!
Hope no one else is dealing with the flu and their FD cats, but I know you are. High carbed foods, folks, to get the cats through our illnesses without having to change their doses. That's what I say. I wonder what others would say, and welcome the input. I'd rather give higher carbs than mess with the insulin dose, that is for sure.
