Good morning.
Been up since 4:20 am. Libre sensor alarm did its job and alerted me to a problem. It “appeared” Ivy had a sudden very low drop of bg. Heart attack ensued.
Upon inspection, it appears her new tube top, which covers her Libre sensor area, dislodged the sensor. (I had a feeling the band on the top may be in a bad spot…)
I’ve said as a Libre user, you need to be prepared at a moment’s notice to spring into action and replace the sensor. By 5 am that was done. All before coffee or any hint of sunrise. Ugh.
To be sure of her actual bg at 4:45 am I checked 2 x on the Contour handheld meter and got 259, 263, which
were both in line with the BGs She was having overnight through the PM cycle.
Past 3 cycles have been pretty decent. Yesterday am cycle I had to feed some 9 & 12% in the 1st hour for fast drops. Seemed to help slow her down a bit. She had a very active cycle for about 5/6 hours.
Going out to dinner tonight and will add a bit of 9% in her meal and snacks for the first 3 hours to help keep her from dropping too low while I’m out. Hoping the 9% does the trick. (Will decide when I feed dinner in hopes I can guess what her cycle will do).
She seems to have the knack to know when I’m going out for an evening and likes to drop lower while I’m out. Gives me complete anxiety every single time. We comment every time that she just knows.
The Libre alarm goes off an alert while I’m out. Luckily most restaurants are so loud no one even hears the alarm.
Have a good weekend everyone and Safe surfing kitties
