Another pink start after a bunch of nice blue ones.:( There are times when we do the pajama party, and other times I just can't. On those nights I leave a heapin' helpin' of MC in her dish and in the automatic feeder to keep her safe, but I worry that today's preshot could mean she went too low overnight. She had a dose of chlorambucil on Saturday, and despite the ondansetron I've been giving her, she seems a little punky and off her feed, which of course doesn't help.

Wishing everyone a safe and healthy Monday :bighug::coffee::cat:

Thanks, Tim and Diane -- Chispa heard you and is back to blue!

This morning I decided to put her turkey stew in the blender. She'd been lapping up the gravy and pushing the little solid pieces to the side, even though they were no bigger than lentils -- I guess she just doesn't like the texture. As soon as I poured the "smoothie" into her dish, she went to town on it! I'm glad I figured it out, because throwing away everything from a can of food except the gravy is not what I'd call a sustainable practice. :blackeye:

Hi Karen, seems like Chispa is also special if it comes to food! Good idea with the smoothie! :) Maybe I should try it, Binie is a gravy licker too.

I totally understand, you can't have pajama parties all the time. I hope you find ways, to make Chispa a reliable eater. If you find them, please tell me! :)

@Heike & BInie , I'm sorry you are having food issues with too. With Chispa, it seems like the older she gets, the more picky she is -- which is unfortunate, because she has tummy issues and can't eat lots of things (like chicken, which used to be her favorite). And of course the food has to be low in carbs, AND it has to be low in phosphorous because she has early CKD. She is a challenging case  but worth it, of course!

Have you tried sprinkling something extra tasty on top of her food? I have a bag of Life Essentials freeze-dried salmon pieces that I crumble with my fingers -- she can smell it from the other room and is usually tempted to come and take a few bites. Or maybe squeeze a Churu over it?

Oh Karen, that is really a lot you have to take into consideration! And poor Chispa has to stay away from her favorite chicken. Good you found ways to make her food more appetizing!

Yes, I tried some toppings also. The biggest problem is, that she doesn't like to eat on her own. Most of the time she needs my motivation which means holding the plate and watching her eat. I don't mind doing that at all if I am here but leaving the house becomes even more tough. Our little divas. :cat::cat:
