Good Caturday Morning LL! Muffin had a nice blue day yesterday, for the most part, doing a famous Zener slide into pmps. Then, she just fell right off! This, tho, is the Muffin cycle of old that I know. She normally (used to, anyway) nadirs around +2 or +3, so it was good to see a familiar pattern finally. I'm learning that she is is slow to respond to karo, so it's a chore getting her out of those numbers, as she won't eat MC or HC fuds. As far as cat food goes, anyway, she eats Wellness Chicken, ONLY. So my only recourse is to use karo. Fortunately she gobbles it up. I was debating on how much of a reduction to take, whether I should take a full .25 or just shave the fat off the .5. I opted for the whole .25. I'm still not used to dealing with her bounces, and later realized maybe I should have just shaved this morning to get her thru her probable bounce and then shaved again tonight. But we'll see what happens. If this goes anything like the last time on insulin, once she gets over the CP flare, her insulin needs drop pretty quickly. And, I can always bump her up if necessary.
I brought Sam inside from the garage and made her spend the night in DD's room, as she and the girls weren't home and it was so cold out. I figured she'd be scared and miserable, and may not even eat. I went to check on her late last night, and she had eaten her fuds and was on the bed snuggled among the pillows, bathing and purring. She probably hasn't been that warm and comfy in quite some time. This morning, however, she's back under the bed, but I'm going to leave her in there until DD comes home. The last time I made her stay inside, I had her in my room, where all the other animals frequent, and she was not happy. What a difference having her very own room all to herself made!
My sore throat is back this morning
I thought I had beat it and was going to get out of this cold, but it's back to try again. ohmygod_smile So, while I had planned to do things today, I've decided to rest instead. The housework and the stores sure aren't going anywhere. I did call and make Kibby a vet appt for this afternoon. This pocket thing inside his wound looks to me to be swelling up a little, so I want to have Dr look at it. And Shnookie needs a refill on his methimazole, so I'd have to go today, anyway.
I got some devastating news last night, and although I posted in last night's condo, it was late. The Dr's are giving my DSiL 2 weeks to live. She has lung cancer and has been in the ICU for a couple weeks. They wanted to wait 6 weeks so she could get strong enough for surgery, but after running some tests yesterday, they don't think she'll make it 6 weeks. They've told her there's nothing they can do but make her comfortable. She's 50 years old. So I've got to figure in a trip to Oregon in the next few days to go and see her. Whether or not that will involve packing Muffin up and taking her with me, I don't know yet. Please keep my DSiL in your thoughts and prayers and send out positive energy for her. We all know the power of this board.
