All is well here. Breffis eaten couple of times..water at sink, drunk and played in.
Good news all around for bean.
A greyhound that DD & I, had a hand in rescuing from neglect, is now in good foster care.
Life is good. :-D :-D

Yellow is much nicer to see than those reds we saw yesterday!

Checkers plays with water?!?! Leo says to tell Checkers that water is BAD stuff, he's gotten bathed a few times in his life and has never forgotten it!

Great story about the greyhound!! Good on you and DD!

HOORAY FOR YELLOW!!!!!

and how wonderful on the greyhound, barb...you guys are so caring.

I was howling with laughter at your comment in Ella & Rusty's condo yesterday,
which, along with your greyhound story, gives me the perfect lead-in for this... :-D :-D

Early in the day, I was optimistic that he'd come down. Gave up, at +6. 'Twas a nice flat day, even though high.
I hope that means no bounces tomorrow.

Re: 1/12 Checkers amps 325 +2/248

Well, it's a classic "Lantus Curve", just a little too high!!!

Hi Barb and Checks, Sounds like the day was enjoyable for all: Checkers got to play in the water; Barb and DD found a home for the drooler, and Checkers' numbers saw some good yellows.

Task for tomorrow: some blue in the curve!!

Enjoy the evening. We are still getting the awful "wintry mix" tonight.

Hugs,

Ella & Rusty

How long do I keep telling myself, he is bouncing, and to wait it out? I'm thinking he needs a bit of help now.
Advice would be appreciated, please.
Thank you.

Re: 1/12 Checkers pmps 333 +2/371 Advice Please

It looks like whenever Checkers sees blue or green you get a bounce. It looks like you may have a bounce going on tonight. You're gonna have to wait it out.

Re: 1/12 Checkers pmps 333 +2/371 Advice Please

Barb, I am not a dosing expert, but it looks like you have been on this dose for at least 6 cycles, right? If so, you probably want to fatten up the dose a little. Of course, this is coming from someone who tends to keep the dose for longer than I should.

I hope tomorrow is better for Checkers -- no more stinkus pinkus!

Re: 1/12 Checkers pmps 333 +2/371 Advice Please

Help me understand....if he is bouncing, that means the liver is dumping glucogen (correct word?)

If liver is complaining, shouldn't he be getting less insulin?

Re: 1/12 Checkers pmps 333 +2/371 Advice Please

Hi barb - sorry Checks is still running high. I am no dose expert by any means, am a bit roe conservative than the aggressive dosers, but... I think maybe you are right. He had a couple of minor dose changes a few cycles back, that could be affecting tings. IMHO, if things don't improve in a cycle or two, I'd take him up. maybe add a drop on. Right now, it looks like he is in a bounce. See what others have to say. Best of luck!

and very nice on the drooller rescue!

This isn't a liver "complaint." It's a normal reaction by the liver -- it's doing what it's supposed to be doing. If the liver gets signals that BG is too low, it responds by releasing glycogen and counterregulatory hormones to raise BG numbers. However, "low" doesn't have to be numbers in the 30s. It can be a blue or the response can be the result of numbers dropping quickly. If this truly were a life threatening situation, this response is valuable. However, the liver can't differentiate between what is legitimately an emergency and what's not.

If Checkers' numbers warrant a decrease, that's when you decrease. Otherwise, numbers go up and it can take a while to get them back down.
