binks is enjoying getting some laughs in at my lack of mobility after all my laughing at his wonky leggedness.

note to all...the splitting maul is always likely to win...

Celi, I'm sorry to hear that you are wearing more equipment and in pain. I think you should try to stay away from that dangerous stuff like ice and mauls. :lol: Maybe you can get your cuz to split your wood? Binks is just looking awesome though, so I hope his greens will help you feel better. Get some rest and let those pain meds work. :YMHUG:

well, walmart chose not to hold any relion strips back, and we're down to the last 2 i have...so yesterday and this am, been dbl checking with the nova max.
as in september, it runs 20-30 pts higher than the relion...
what i'm going to do is just keep a very close eye on him...and not drive myself crazy trying to second guess the readings.
thought i had it covered, but they cancelled my online order due to the accuracy issues.

here's a cool thing tho...due to suggestions in our condo yesterday...i called the satellite company and told them what happened yesterday...
not only are they reimbursing the medical expenses ($500 and change thus far)...but in the interests of saving their rep (as installers are not allowed to borrow tools)...they're giving me free cable and wi-fi for the first 3 months. SWEET!

Celi I'm sure you'd rather not have 500$/free cable vs two broken fingers and 7 stitches. (but I said SWEET as I read what they offered). Serious ouch factor every time I think of it. Wish we were all closer. You wouldn't have to move off the couch there'd be so many people helping out. Hope you heal quickly and the pain meds work like they should.

thanks, karrie...but this will show you how spoiled i am...have his test supplies on a table by the couch, and so far when i call him he jumps right up here.

only getting up for restroom, and feed the kitties.

kind of funny tho...annie ticked him off...and rather than fight...he just turned his back on her...

Thanks for stopping by Maggie Manx's condo. Oh so sorry to hear about your hand. I was gone quite a while Monday and yesterday. I hope the pain meds kick in, but they can make you sleepy, so try and rest, too. Mr. Binksy Manx looks good - is this the meter that runs high? He is still looking good with that meter. My Walmart doesn't always have the Relion strips in stock, for some reason. I hope they come in soon. Take care of yourself.

Such lovely numbers for da Binks today!! I echo the helmet suggestion... or perhaps you and Binks could just wear matching hard hats? :D I hope that you are feeling better and have full use of all your appendages soon!

Hey Celi, Good to hear how well you and Binks are coping with your injury! You might consider getting one of the other ReliOn meters (the ones that use the strips that are not recalled: the Micro or the Confirm). They are only $9. and the box of 50 strips is $20. They also require a smaller blood drop. I switched because of Rusty's hard-to-poke ears and am glad I did.
Best news possible on the Satellite company's "contribution" to your medical bills and the free 3 months.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the relion confirm meter. Too bad its a two hour drive or three week wait for me to get more. I have 150 strips left for it. Crazy cheap. The strips suck up the blood in a second. And you need very little. Now if only it wirelessly transmitted the number to my spreadsheet. Would save the three trips I have to do for each result when I forget the number from testing station to the computer downstairs. Then back up and get side tracked and back up again.

see, i have 3 relion micro meters (you know, in case one quits)...and i love them...been using micro since we started...but for some reason...all boise Walmarts pulled EVERY relion strip off the shelf. maybe it's only here in town (cuz, after all...it's boise).

now i'm curious though...cuz the Nova Max is as easy to use...and it also accepts strips for ketone tests (which i rarely worry about anymore with binks)...
i guess i wonder if he might be getting reductions quicker than he should with a meter that reads lower consistently.

AND RIGHT HERE is where i'll stop wondering. found very conflicting comparisons online...THIS WAY LIES MADNESS!!!

I'll go back to the micro when they get in the new strips, cuz it's been what we've been on from the beginning...and continue to make him earn his reducies...

the Nova Max LOOKS cooler though... :lol:

OT...there's naked channels on my satellite...i think binks must have ordered them...cuz i didnt!

wonder if anyone can tell my pills just kicked in???

:) Feeling better Celi? Nice day for Binks! Willow is trying hard to get a nasty boo-boo too. He's really exploring the new apartment, more so than he did the last apartment. He's into EVERYTHING... trying to lay in plastic bags... jumping up everywhere... almost makes me miss his Neuropathy. :roll: Ok, not really. :lol:
