Good Morning, Everyone,

I can't believe that today is my 5th anniversary on the FDMB! :):) I want to thank all of my L&L friends for the help and support you gave Stu and are giving to Rusty. You guys are the GREATEST!!

It's another cold, gray day here in the North Country. Rusty had a good night sleeping with his beans. He ate all of his nighttime food, ate his first sitting of breakfast, and at present is lounging in his perch over the radiator. He's about to get his morning combing. Edward is baking our bread for the coming week and all is well here.

We'll be waiting to see which way Rusty decides to go today. After two very flat, low-blue days, he climbed to the higher blues last night at bedtime and is beginning there today.

Sending many healing vines to Amy's Trixie and to all kitties and beans who are not feeling well,

Ella & Rusty

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!

sure hope Rusty decides the path towards green instead of yellow!

I bet your house smells so good with the baking bread!

Even though I am a relative newbie here, let me be the first to congratulate you Ella! 5 years is a long time to be involved with FDMB- and for as much as you have undoubtedly benefited from this community- I am absolutely certain that this community has benefited from your presence as well! Your comforting words and encouragement and wisdom that you have shared here are priceless!! I will never ever forget one of my first posts, I was new to FDMB, Tiger not only had the R131 treatment, but then DH had the stroke, and I had just learned that R131 had left her hypothyroid and that she had CKD... I will never forget your words of wisdom and experience and cannot thank you and the other Long-timer Angel People here enough (Marje, Wendy, Julie, Sienne, Dyana, I know there's tons of others):bighug:

Chef Stu and Chef Rusty were very lucky to have you and Edward!

Come on Rusty! Give mamabean a nice Annifursary present and dip a toe in the Lagoon.

Sheesh, I missed our Annifursary last Wed.! We started together and have made so many friends along the way! I truly admire you for adopting a second FD kitty. You have been rewarded with such a wonderful companion.

Mmmmmmm, what kind of bread is in the oven?

Thanks for the good wishes, guys!

The LagoonMeister is on duty! He's celebrating in his own way--a big dive into the lagoon.

Edward baked his usual French country loaf, no-knead, Sullivan St. Bakery recipe. It is so good and the only thing he has to do is to plan ahead and start the yeast working 18 hours before baking. Here's a link to the recipe for those interested:

Congratulations on your anniversary, Ella. However, I think the congrats are really for the rest of us - how lucky we all have been to have had you here so long. You are an inspiration, a wise advisor, and a good friend to all of us here. Thank you for all that you contribute to LL.

Rusty, did you jump into the lagoon to keep an eye on Cinco? Thank you! He hasn't been so deep for a while and I'll bet he was really happy to have you nearby. I hope the two of you will paddle a little closer to shore. :D

Thanks for sharing the recipe. I printed it out and am dying to try it! :)

Morning Ella :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Happy 5th Anniversary! I too made that mark a while back. When I think about it, what an incredible five + years it has been. I've made so many friends here, met some incredible people. I imagine that it is the same for you. It is all so bittersweet, as Sienne says. and the best 5 years ever!

I see Rusty is celebrating too, with a big dive and splash into the lagoon. AWESOME job Rusty! :D:D:DYou surf well today, 'K?

Have a great day today. I hope it gets warmer where you guys live... SO COLD there! Bet the warmth and aromas of that baking bread though are warming the house up nicely.

Great cycles again Rusty.:D

Wow! Happy 5th year annifursary Ella. Thanks so much for all you do here. Reading your posts when I was new here helped me realize you can have a diabetic cat and a life too.

I went to the bread recipe site, and now I'm getting lost in the NY Times cooking app. Yumm!

Happy annifursary and lovely green celebration fro Rusty!:D

I'm joining the chorus of annifurrsary tidings. And adding our thanks for your constant encouragement through your condos of "normalcy" amid the sometimes chaos of FD. Plus, I simply am smitten with Rusty. And his little bed(s), basket, radiator, travels, and beans.

He's a lucky little boy.
