That's really interesting, Beth. I woudln't think birds would want to snuggle up with cat fur! We always have birds nesting in our hanging baskets, and I never thought to put fur out there. I'm going to start doing that this year - finally, a great use for all that fur that flies around hte house!

Hmmmmm...I actually saved quite a bit of Latte's fur to spin and then possibly knit or crochet.
I have not finished it because...well, its just hard. But I will say it was VERY therapeutic the first 6-8 months after she left.
I have no idea when I will finish it, or what I will make with it when it is all spun. Whatever it is will mean a lot to me.
Call me crazy?!?! (I take no offense to it if you do ;-) )

and honestly...one of those treasure boxes and a felted kitty might make for a much better urn that the plain ol paper box and bag she is in. Cheaper than a real urn too!

I have to agree with you. That's a super cute idea for an urn. Better than the silver jars I have sitting on my shelf...

I have a box with Homie (GA) hair...they had to shave a goodly amount trying to treat him before we lost him...
but so far I can only bring myself to touch the outside of the box...I've yet to open it
but that along with his whiskers, and some claw remnants from his daily self pedicure
...and Sean (GA) hair and whiskers await the day I can "Pet Lady Up"
(as opposed to "Man Up") and make two very meaningful dreamcatchers :-D

Binksy and the girls are daily contributing material for theirs.

I will NOT, however...consider adding hairballs to the design

My sister had a really cool way of using tiny silver & tiger-eye beads to capture & display the whiskers...

One of my clients is a big knitter, crotcheter and she made me a wonderful winter hat. Her hat said she had included Evie's dog fur! Thank goodness she keeps a clean dog!
