Nancy
I saw your posts this morning on yesterday’s condo. I want to be kind here but also stress to you that each member here is responsible for learning and listening and reading all they can about FD. We also expect each member to follow the
Posting Guidelines. This is extremely important because we have so many members and, sometimes, we have to “triage” who needs help first. We shouldn’t have to keep reminding a member on how to post correctly. Again, this might seem small and inconsequential to you but we’ve learned over the years how we can best help members. This is a fast-moving board within the forum and cooperation is much appreciated.
Examples:
---always be sure the date (in US format....we are a US board), the cat’s name, the BGs and time test taken is in the subject line. After that, you can put text that you need help. I have fixed today’s so people won’t still be worried you need help.
--if a “?” prefix is used, take it down as soon as someone responds; leaving it up means other members, whose time could be spent helping someone else with a question, takes that time to check in on someone who has already had their question answered.
--always link the previous day’s condo in the first post of the day.
--read through every single word written to you, ask questions if you don’t understand, but if clear guidance is left for you overnight, please follow it.
--everyone here dealing with FD is tired but if someone has committed to staying with a member until your cat is in safe numbers, we also expect the courtesy of that member testing when we ask them to so we also don’t have to stay up checking in to see if the member ever came back and if the cat is safe.
By asking you to test at +2 last night, it was designed so if Bailie was up, you could go to bed and not test again until 6 am. And while I am not dealing with FD any longer so am not up and down all night to test, I also need to get my sleep based on 5.5 years of dealing with FD and complete sleep deprivation. I am always happy to help but members need to be considerate of each other and those helping. All the people helping here are volunteers; many have their own diabetic cat but many have stayed even after their kitty has passed.
I believe I was very clear about what BG range you could see today and shoot two hours early. Bailie was in that range but stalling again means you must shoot at 6:30 tonight and then you can shoot at 6/6 again tomorrow. Also, his SS is correct. When we stall, we stack the BGs we are getting from testing (while stalling) in the AMPS or PMPS column; the last BG shown is the one that is the BG you shot or decided not to shoot.
Again, I want to be kind and I don’t mean to be harsh; I know this is very stressful. But you’ve been here months now and we do expect a progression in your ability to post correctly and to start learning how to help Bailie.
Thank you. Have a good day.
