Good Morning LL! No bg numbers to post today, she doesn't want to bleed for me today. Vet called with her test results:

T4: 2.4 (ref 0.8 - 4.0)
Free T4: 49 (ref 10 - 50)

So he is not suspecting hyper-T as a reason for her weight loss, but will check her thyroid every time she comes in. He does want to see her again in 7-10 days if her appetite does not pick up, to do a full blood panel and check for p'titis. I do have pepcid and cypro here, and he said go ahead and give those if I want, to see if it helps. She is eating, still, but not nearly the amt she usually does. She asks for food, then just licks at it and goes off to the kitchen to scrounge for people food. I've tried both the wellness chicken and the special kitty super supper. The wellness is what she licks at, shows no interest in special kitty. He suspects she may have some gastro-intestinal issues and says the pepcid should help with that.

So I'll give pepcid now and maybe for a few days and won't resort to cypro until after that.

You probably already know this, but you can give 1/4 tab of the 10mg Pepcid AC twice a day. I try to give it an hour before meals. You don't want the Pepcid Complete. I hope Muffin starts eating better for you. I know how frustrating it can be to watch them not eat.

Hope the pepcid helps I use it for Do Lou quite a bit and like Ele said you can use it bid just making sure its the plain pepcid 10mg

Muffin you need to eat girl cat_pet_icon :YMHUG: sending feel better vines her way

Anne: I sure hope you get her to eating again....little stinker girl. Glad the thyroid is ok!!! Come on Muffin....eat up baby!!

Wooohooo glad her thyroid is okay and you can rule that out. Awesome news.

Weight loss was the first flag early last year that Maverick had diabetes so thats so awesome that you monitor so well. Weight can tell you so much. Wishing the Pepcid is all she needs. Maverick won't touch wellness he dislikes it the most of all of them.

Hi, Anne & Muffin... terrific news on the Thyroid results.. keeping you both in my thoughts that she begins eating soon.

I gave her 1/4 tab of Pepcid, and she wolfed down several slices of turkey immediately afterwards, but still hasn't touched her own food. She's napping in her bed this afternoon, which, while it's not "hiding", she's normally in here with me. I just went downstairs to feed Kibby, and she went with me, and is now in here with me. I may go ahead and try 1/4 tab cypro this evening.

Sienne: She's never had a dental done, but everytime she's at the vet, they are always very pleased with how her teeth look, often asking me if I brush them for her (which I don't). However, I do know that not everything can be seen from a visual inspection, so I'll keep that in mind.

Thanks for the good wishes and eating vines!

Happy day that Muffin is not Hyper T! Hope the pepcid will help the tummy & eating issues--Would she eat old favorite FF any flavors??

I stick chicken into the cat food so my civvie will eat some cat food which he usually does.--I'm sure you have tried all the old favorites, parmesean cheese, tuna juice, etc....How about some turkey? Mine always will eat that cold cuts or home cooked..
I wish I had the answer--Just sending Healing & eating vines to Muffin--We lubs you!!

I brought home a rotisserie chicken this afternoon for the gang, and between Muffin, Sam and Shnookie, half of it is gone already! Poor Kibby missed out  but I'll give him some later. Muffin just ate a full serving of wellness chicken (about 1/6 can), so maybe she just needed a little jump start with the chicken. Holding off on further meds this evening, and will see what she does tomorrow. She's bathed and napping here at the computer with me, so good signs!

Hey Muffin, you tired of kitty food?? You want bean food?? You need the vitamins and minerals in the kitty food so you'll feel your best, gal! Wellness. YES! (Rusty loves the turkey, tolerates the chicken). So eat, Muffin, eat!

Hi Ann, Good news on the thyroid tests. Nice about the rotisserie chicken!!

Ella & Rusty
