Good morning all,
While I know it was early, I went ahead and increased him to 3.75u last night. I hope we'll see some downward movement today. Interestingly enough, this is the highest dose Lou's ever officially been on in his full 1.5 years on insulin, even though he's an IAA kitty. We'll be charting new territory when we increase to 4.0u this weekend (not being negative, just realistic). I hope we're getting close to that magic dose!

I hope you all have a wonderful day and your kitties surf safely. Sending vines to Miss P (@Phoebes) and to anyone else in need. Sending love and hugs to Tracey (@Tracey&Jones). :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sometimes you just gotta go up in dose to go back down again. Paws crossed you get to that “kick in the furry butt” dose soon.

Come on Lou show your mama what you can do

Work the new dose Lou. I try to think of units as just another number. Olive was 8.75 then down to 4.5 now back up to 8 and will probably higher. It's so discouraging. But she is having better cycles so it is what it is.

="Amanda and a Loudogg, post: 2318052, member: 19905"]However, the vet said originally he needed ALL his teeth out. After the surgery, they said they took most but left around 6 and that they were worried about breaking his jaw.
Did the vet say why all his teeth needed extraction?

He was having root absorption. Quite a few of the teeth on the x-rays had almost nothing below the gum line and just the healthy-looking cap above the gum line. The only reason they gave for leaving some in was they didn't want to break his jaw. I don't even know if they're bad and they just left them or if they were healthier than they though (which I don't know how they would have known that if the x-ray said otherwise). So they didn't give me any information about what the plan is supposed to be going forward. I assume all of his teeth will need to go eventually, but they didn't mention any future needs/plans.

Any veterinary dental specialists in your area that you could consult with?

Mandarin had those resorptive lesions as well. He had a few dentals where they removed several teeth, but they eventually decided to do a full mouth extraction. He hasn't had any issues since. He struggled with inflamed gums before and I think that was one of the reasons why he kept coming out of remission.

That is definitely good to know. I have a feeling he'll have the same issues until all of his are out as well.

PMPS = 173!!
He's finally in the blues!!! I'm so excited I'm near tears! I keeping "Wahoo!-ing" around the house and Lou just keeps looking at me like: That's great ma, where's the food? :cool::cool::cool::cool:

Oh gosh I can't get over how adorable that little avatar is! And it's a little Lou!!

I'm still so excited about that blue PMPS! I wish Caleb would have tested again, but he had to work early today, so it wasn't possible. We'll have time to see what he does with this dose.

Thank you so much everyone for your continued support! It's helped us all immensely!

Maybe Lou has something up his sleeve tonight? He seemed to be coming down all day...I might be inclined to do some closer monitoring this eve.:)
