Buddha Kitteh sends hugs to you!!! +6 just recorded..was 94....posted a question about snacks on my SS in remarks..getting ready to post it here as well...thee sure is a lot of finessing that goes into thisWendy, thank u so so much. As I've said, although Elmo was diagnosed in late July ( serious DKA hospital stay...there really is no other kind of DKA tho now that I think on it) I felt late to doing what was best for him...not until late October , a hypo and Chris and China coming to our rescue did I fully plug in here. That is water under the bridge. I find myself a newbie once again with this current event and the stalled Lantus beginning. I so appreciate the help of you, of all the other wonderful Lantus Ladies. I do need weaning from concern that I'm not doing all I can for him. We have had our two eldest go ahead ( I love that terminology) in the last two years come this May....Our tuxedo Socks at the age of 21 and our sweet only girl, Chloe, at 19 last May.....we r never ready to let them go, are we? I know it has been recent for u and for that my heart aches....That's part of what drives me , I think, is wanting to do the best for Elmo but not overdo. Thank u for your wise words which I will follow and Elmo will thank you for .(and a PS...Neko looks so much like my Chloe..catches at my heart )Beth - I'm going to make a suggestion for you while you are in this trial period. If you see a green "preshot", don't test any more that cycle. If you see a blue, get that +3 or +4 and if it's green, put away the test kit for the rest of the cycle. This trial period is to wean you off testing too.
The carb content of your snack sounds good. As for amounts, that is ECID. Some people need to feed just a small snack, others find their cat needs more of a mini meal. Try something for a few cycles, record what you do, and see how it works.
