Happy New Year, Everyone!

Yesterday

Our party went on until around 1:30 A.M. Rusty wanted to go to bed at his usual time (11:30 p.m.) and told us so with some hearty meows. But he gave up and went back into his basket by the wood stove. We had a fun party. Too much food, however! The performance of "Die Fledermaus" that we watched on DVD was the best Fledermaus we have ever seen: Vienna, 31 December 1980. It was simply superb. A few of us stayed in to watch the operetta, but others went out to the various venues of "First Night." Our midnight supper was hilarious. The "winner" of last New Year's Eve predictions for 2014 won a packet of elephant-dung note paper. :woot:

So Rusty is starting the new year doing mostly sleeping. We all went btb this morning after TFS and didn't get up until 10:30. It's a gray, blustery day, cold, with some light snow. Edward and I took a walk around Moody Pond this afternoon, just to get out and clear our heads. Mostly we cleaned up after the party.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by last evening with New Year's wishes. Our New Year's wish for everyone on L&L is for good health for your kitties. OTJ is nice, but OnTJ is OK, too.

It sounds like you had a great time at the party last night. It looks like Rusty is taking a break from the lagoon today. I hope he heads back soon.

What a nice blue surf for Rusty today- your party sounds wonderful but I had to LOL at Rusty complaining that he wanted to go to sleep! :p I would not be surprised to see Rusty back in the lagoon tonight- Happy New Year!

I am so glad you had a great new years Eve party. Very cool!

And Rusty - look at you today! all that green, What a great way to start out 2015. :D

Sounds like a fun party....elephant dung paper and all!!!! :p Rusty had the right idea though...bedtime at 11:30!! I stayed up way too late last night and only got a little BTB time. Wish we could have had a little more btb time like you guys!!! Happy New Year!!
 
Nicely done, Rusty, but the lagoon misses its Meister. Maybe tomorrow? Elephant dung paper? What prediction won that lovely prize?

Oh, Ella, your party sounds wonderful. Even the dung paper! And as usual, Rusty was the perfect host. Going to bed while the guests were still there! So often I've felt like doing that when I've had company here.

Outer reaches of the lagoon tonight, Rusty. Too darned cold to go much deeper!

Rusty has had a really great day especially since he was recovering from all the party disruptions to his routine!

I bet the party was fab especially because the food was as amazing as the hosts! I'm glad you all had so much fun. It all reminds me of Christmas and New Year's holidays of long ago.

Tobey hopes you all enjoyed his cimmamum spiced Moose Milk at your party. He and Gracie worked hard to figure that one out!

We saw Die Fledermaus in Salzburg, Austria but the performers were marionettes. It was really different and interesting.
