HAPPY 2021 EVERYONE!

Yesterday was another good day in Rubyland. :cat: Her responses to the insulin have become markedly consistent since I started using calipers. Today the markings on the syringe were off again by around .25 units. :eek: I've been aggressively managing the curve by feeding MC during onset to prevent steep drops, but now that we're on our 11th cycle at .5 units I might take a step away from that to see where she goes. Last night I fed her less MC and she seemed to surf well. Would love to see those preshots come down and maybe they will if she's eating less carbs. :bookworm:
 
Happy New Year! Yes, I have to agree, calipers are a God-Send!! Helps so much to get those doses consistent...I don't even use the lines on the syringes any more - they're worthless...I turn the sryinge around to the non-lined side and measure from there.
 
+4 = 81. Got here with no MC today. :)

It's great because I inadvertently ordered 100 syringes without the half unit markings and then opened the box so I couldn't return them but I can use them now. :rolleyes: Who needs lines when they're not accurate anyway?

Yep! Other than using them as an occasional gut check to make sure my calipers don't need recalibrating, I always measure against the side of the syringe without lines:smuggrin:.

PMPS = 87. So far a pretty good day for Ruby. I did not break out the MC once and hope she'll surf safely without it tonight. Keeping fingers and paws crossed! :cat:

And yes, still loving the calipers!

I already am! :rolleyes: I have been looking at her spreadsheet and wondering how many of those wonky days were due to the syringes being totally off.

I hear you! I did the same thing:rolleyes:. It was after a PJ party night where I must've fed over 1/4 cup HC gravy to butters that I made the switch:oops:.

Thank you so much Amy! I loved our Libre conversations! I've since gotten the hang of poking Ruby a gazillion times a day so I haven't resorted to it again after the last time when the vet placed it badly and the poor girl was really miserable with it on. But I am still happy to try it again if needed in the future. Wishing you and T happy days and bottomless purrs in 2021!

I am hopeful you will poke your way OUT & into remission & there isn’t a future with the Libre :bighug::)!!
