Time for the start of a new year, and a new sheet for Jack... A nice blue to start the new sheet. My back went fully out on Wed. and I learned taking care of a FD cat has its challenges. I had to crawl out to the kitchen which confused the cat, testing him on the kitchen floor and laying down to shoot him. We both learned a bit about patience I think. Jack had some good numbers during that time and bounced once or twice.

New medication for the trial is in, the vet said the pharmacy would call me to arrange details, guess the vet forgot and just ordered it themselves. Along with the missing specfPl they didn't earn any brownie points this last visit.

Yesterday Jack was clingly and gassy.... not a great combo for the bean:D. He doesn't come lay with me as much these days so I take any chance I can get, even if it was a little odoriferous.

Hope all the beans and kitties had a good safe new year last night and the trend continues into 2017.

So sorry about your back! Sure hope you start feeling a bit better and Capt. Jack too. When are you starting the medication? Oh, and Happy New Year!

You and me both, I was starting to get a little stir crazy and I'm a homebody! Not 100% yet, but I can sit in a chair and walk again(small victories:D) Current plan is to start next week, this week I have a lot of schools that need attention and I won't be home to monitor. I want a solid few days to start where I can watch him closely.

Happy New Year to you too.

Sounds like you've had quite an eventful few days - I do understand the odoriferous nature of kitties with GI issues, though
What medication are you waiting for?
Happy 2017!! wishing you all good things

It is a drug trial from the RVC for treating Jack's Acro. It won't reverse any growth, but the RVC is hoping it will slow the release of the growth hormone that slowly enlarges organs and soft tissue.

Thanks Carol, same to you. I'm glad I got it out of the way before the new year. The really fun part was trying to mix up his food on the floor with him. He is SO food motivated. One night I crushed up his zobaline in his bowl and before I could get food in the bowl he licked it clean... Guess it tasted good enough.

I know I shouldn't have laughed at your test and shoot on the kitchen floor but, I did. Not funny about your back though and I hope that it gets better ASAP. The way Bubs jumps down off the buffet table after eating and runs from me, I would be screwed him my back went out as I have to chase him into the basement and capture him. ( hope my laughing at you doesn't give me bad karma)

Great news about the drug trail starting soon. You must be so excited to see the results as I know we all will be watching and cheering you and Jack on!

Trust me, both me and Jack got some amusement out of it... now getting the insulin out of the fridge was not fun on day 1, glad the handles on the fridge door are strong. Back is sore but I'm getting stuff done so can't complain.

Glad you can keep your sense of humor. :bighug:

I hope your back feels better soon!

Healing vines for your back Wes. That's no fun. A few years ago I had to do some "floor testing" cause of a wrenched back.

No funny stuff Jack - take it easy on the bean. The start to 2017's SS sure looks a lot better than the first lines in 2016!

I owe it all to the group here!!!! I can't even guess how many curves would have been done at the vet with his current dose. We never would have tested for the high dose conditions. We also would not be able to contribute back some with the upcoming trial. It has been quite a ride but I know that he is getting the best care he can and the rest is up to him since he is after all a cat.

Luckily the back is back to 80-90%, still a little tender but no more carpet surfing to get around.
