Happy new year to everyone! In this period Cleo decided not to miss anything and so she has taken ear infection. The vet gave her some drops (Surolan) for 10 days. I'm not sure, but it seems this product contains cortisone. It's ok for a diabetic cat?

Surolan Composition (per ml):
  • Miconazole Nitrate . . . 23 mg
  • Polymyxin B Sulphate . . . 5500 IU (= 0.696 mg)
  • Prednisolone acetate . . . 5 mg
What do you use for your kitty's ear infections?
Aside from this, today Cleo's values are very high. Perhaps due to bounce after the low values of Tuesday?

Simon has had chronic ear allergies for most of his life. Anything with prednisolone in it always raised his blood sugar (and pretty quickly). Hopefully Cleo will not do the same thing, but if you see a spike, call the vet and see if there is something else that will work. I tried zymox without the steroid, but it doesn't work that well with Simon, but that doesn't mean it won't work with Cleo. And since it is an ear infection instead of just ear allergies, you may need to do the Surolan or something similar.

I don't know much about ear infections - one thing Punkin didn't have - but thought i'd bump you up so others can see your question. Sorry you're dealing with it!

happy new year's Delia!
