I hate those air bubbles, I wonder how they get in there to begin with, I always make sure the plunger is all the way down and still get them ugh!

After you draw the insulin, do you the plunger down a few units past the dose? By doing that you make all the air bubbles go to the top of the syringe and then when you slowly press the insulin back up to the top, they should all be gone. I notice that when I do that I make sure the insulin is in a straight line before I start to push it back up to the top. It seems to do the trick.

I used to have the same problem...and finally once I drew the insulin to past what was needed - I could hold the needle upside down, give it a few flicks and then squeeze/rotate the plunger very slowly to push - yes - a drop or two of insulin wasted - but the bubbles would go too...no more bubbles for us. Hope that helps...seems a shame to waste those drops...but I could never get it out any other way.

Hope Furball comes down today - maybe she and Luci can go swimming together? I'm hoping Luci will find her way back to the lagoon today...after all the talk of an increase - she got busy with her dose...never know what the day will hold around here!:bighug::bighug:
 
@Bobbie And Bubba @Sue and Luci I've tried all of the tricks to get air out and keep it out and they work some of the time and some of the time they don't. This morning I did just what Bobbie suggested and it took three tries to get rid of the air. Thanks for the suggestions. I appreciate it. It seems I have this problem every now and then and then it goes away. Hopefully it will get better soon.
 
I find it pulling insulin out slowly helps. I pull out 1/2 unit more than needed. Flick and rotate plunger works for me. Sometimes you just can't get the teeny tiny one out so you have to be okay with it.
 
The dreaded bubbles in the syringe. It's a battle I fight quite a bit. Sometimes I'm lucky, but usually I've learned not to mess around with them too much. It just stresses me out if I do. :p I hope FB comes down for you!
