Good morning. Milo dropped waaayyyyy down last night before I went to bed and caught me totally off guard. He came back up from 38 to 72 in the wee hours of the morning. I syringe fed him again +7.5 (1:30am) and went to sleep. This morning he wasn't eating so I syringe fed him some MC after giving him time to decide he might eat on his own. Now, after 2T syringe, he's eating his food. I left MC and LC out.

I have a vet appointment tomorrow morning; I want to ask for an appetite stimulant. What would you recommend? He's halfway through his antibiotics and he's acting like he's feeling better but appetite continues to be a struggle.

Have a good day everyone. Thanks for the support.

Are you giving a probiotic while giving the antibiotic? The AB could be messing his stomach up and making him not want to eat. I'm glad he came back up for you last night. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

He refuses the probiotics I have but I make plain yogurt with 12 different ones in it. He usually likes this (was recommended by a vet years ago). He has been getting these probiotics even before the antibiotic started. The lack of appetite usually is a key symptom, along with vomiting, upper respiratory signs that cue me that antibiotics are necessary. Most of these are clearing up, except the appetite is still off. He's acting pretty normal otherwise.

A green day today but I'm still having to steer with MC but the reduction was just this morning. Hopefully he can stay in the greens going back to LC. Eating has been better today. The vet has advised me to finish the antibiotics and then bring him in since he's doing better now. They can't do in-house blood work nor his dental at the moment so I'm doing everything they would recommend presently. I can get him in on Tuesday if he doesn't keep improving. I'm stopping by tomorrow to restock the emergency antibiotics, fortiflora, syringes and pick up an appetite stimulant. Any suggestions???
