Yesterday the sharks were swimming in gravy overnight, so Butters threw herself at them. A snippet of what went down: 50 @+3 Fed 1 tsp 16% gravy 56 @+3.5 Fed 1/2 tsp 21% gravy (I felt like I needed some insurance, get her a little higher so I could sleep) 43 @+4 Fed 2 tsps 21% gravy (Sleep ruined. Overfed 21% because I am selfish. I need sleep) 59 @+4.5 Withheld food 63 @+5 Withheld food 45 @+5.5 Fed 1.5 tsps 21% gravy and so on, and so on for the rest of the night. We were only on cycle ten of the current dose (1.5u) last night, so hopefully the reduction sticks. She does seem to be holding the shaved reductions a lot better. As mentioned, I am doing shaved reductions. Her new dose is 1.375u. That is a measurement of 2.06mm using my syringe type (Canadian BD Ultra-Fine II 3/10ml). Have a great day!
Well earned I'd say! Keep surfing little Butters! Show Luci what it looks like will ya? Have a great day Lyla! You're doing a great job with her!!
Given how hard you had to fight to keep her above 50 last night, I think she really needed that reduction. One thing to keep in mind, when pancreatic healing starts to happen, it can accelerate and you may find that you need those full reductions instead of just the skinny ones. By my count, she got 2 tsps of 16% and 4 tsps of 21% last night. That's a lot!
Trying to get what I can between shots! I think I'm just doing what I have to do, though. She dropped below 50 thirty minutes after I fed HC. I feel like I can't leave her alone for too long without checking. I wonder if I'm seeing acceleration yet? Perhaps it is time to consider a switch to 3x below 50 and full reductions. I have loved doing the shaved reductions because they seem to be holding much better than the full ones ever did. But now that I have seen some healing happen, maybe time to switch things up and see if she can hold the full reductions better. I could also use a bit of sleep.
