Well... I have managed to convince my finiky eater that Friskies special diet turkey and giblets pate is his favorite. ;-) No more regular Friskies pate with cheese. He didn't want to cooperate, but I won out (for now...). Anyway, he's eating great and often. I put him on the scale yesterday and about had a heart attack when it said 13 lbs!!! Talk about freaking out! That would have meant he had LOST another 4 pounds in a month!!! Luckily, I realized this had to be impossible since he's eating almost 3 large cans a day and re-weighed him. He's actually a little under 18, which is actually a few ounces more than he was right before the cancelled dental a few weeks back. So, I guess now that he's eating, I have to cut it back so he doesn't gain, right? Poor guy... he can't win.. now he's eating and I'm still not happy.
His BG levels have been much better in the past few days since the old food has worked it's way out of his system. Fingers crossed it continues. We actually went out of town last night and had someone come in and feed/pill him at night and this morning. He did great!
BTW, he is completely refusing to eat anything with the slippery elm bark in it... any other suggestions for nausea? He seems fine, but I know alot of you were worried that the appetite stimulant might make him nauseous...
