Last Night:
523 PMPS
232 +3.25
280 +10
He probably went to blue, but I slept.

He just likes to dive bomb, and then his liver reacts. I did not give him R last night, but I did at +8 today.

We have had about five walks. J.D. has eaten a few bites of Friskies during the early afternoon, and now that he's skyrocketed, he is acting more ravenous.

I have been on the Tanya's CRF site today, trying to get some answers about J.D.'s constipation, or rather mostly small grape sized poos. He had this beautiful normal sized (for him, he's a big cat), perfect poo yesterday morning, and now he's back to the straining to get out these small grape sized very dense poos that he goes. He did three out on one walk. They remind me of rabbit droppings, kind of...round.

Anyway, I hope the R helps him come down a little for PMPS.

Tomorrow is a work day for us.

Hi Dyana,
Sending many poo vines and appy vines to J.D.

Thanks Mariko, it's nice to see you :YMHUG: .

I think I am going to stop the Benefiber and double the Miralax and keep the pumpkin. I just found small cans of 100% pumpkin at WalMart. Last time I had to buy a big can and freeze it in ice cube trays.

Time to test for PMPS. I hope he has come down some.
And then it's more walks before the daylight fades away.

The links worked fine. Was the report from the IM vet the one you were given? If so, it's full of typos making it very hard to understand. What was the outcome of what the vet told you. The cardiology report is great! It also sounded like the nutritionist had some good ideas and observations.

couple of thoughts on the medical reports - first is that JD is doing great. Age 20 years +4 months and his heart is in great condition. That's amazing.

I was very interested in this comment from the IM's report:
We discussed pancreatitis in cats which can be chronic and can be associated with inflammation in the small intestines.

That makes me wonder why pancreatitis isn't treated with antibiotics.

Last thought was about the Nutritionist's report and her comment about feeding him twice a day. It seemed like part of the nutritionist's message is that JD may be eating more than you think, which of course could be true. Given his diving, though, and what we know about how insulin works, i'd be really opposed to not leaving food out when you go to work. Just me, but i would continue leaving out food.

Overall, Dyana, it sounds like JD is doing pretty great. You've done an amazing job of taking care of him and this diabetes beastie. :YMHUG:

Julie, the IM vet said to stop the antibiotics because his slightly increased WBC could just be from the inflammation. I asked our regular vet if she thought so too, and she agreed and also said to stop the ABs.

I will continue leaving food out, of course. I just wish he would eat when he feels himself going down the elevator.. Today, he just wanted to eat when he was 589 and rising

And, I don't know how they got his age wrong. His birthday is 11/04/94.

Sorry, Sienne. It's what happened when I tried to download or something like that from what was emailed to me using Adobe Reader to a file in Microsoft Word that can be copied and pasted. I know it's horrible. I guess the two programs don't communicate the best with each other.

It is great news that there is no heart disease. Just like my echo with Max. My cardiologist explained to me that the murmur would sound worse if stressed due to a more rapid heart rate. I think you should breathe a big sigh of relief and sleep well!! : :-D
