J.D. got his shrimp last night (3 hours ago, at +9) for a little green.

He just finished his breakfast, used the LB, and is currently (kind of) playing with Ginger. So, I guess, all Ps in Place.

Re: 09/20 J.D. AMPS 200, +3 258 Questions

I just heard an awful noise coming from the basement and when I looked, both cats were down there and it was J.D. making that awful mournful like noise again, that he makes after he beats up on his sister. He acts fine. When he saw me at the top of the stairs he came to look up at me right away, and came up the stairs like everything was fine.
We had a nice walk this morning, and he is eating fine.

Also: I just weighed him, and he is down to 14lb 13oz which I think is more his ideal weight, but he was 15lb 11.5oz on 08/19 before we left on vacation. Maybe it's the vacation, stress, Levemir change?

Should I take him to the vet? Or watch him and weigh him once a week?
Does anyone else's cat make awful noises after they beat up their sister?

My cats don't make a mournful noise but Gabby does hiss and yell at Gizmo!

I would wait and check his weight in a day or two. Was J.D. eating the same at your Dad's?

Re: 09/20 J.D. AMPS 200, +3 258 Questions

Normally Ginger beats up on J.D. and he runs (trots) away from her. Twice, I've seen him actually retaliate? and go after her. And both times, I saw him, he then went over by his food bowl and made terrible noises. Strange!
I suspect that Ginger has specific rules about the litter boxes, and with both of them down there, Ginger may have tried and failed to enforce one of her rules..small smile.

The last 4 vacations, J.D. only ate at night and not during the day, at my Dad's. This time, he ate just fine, day and night.
I'll just keep watching him. Thanks.

Shadow does that mournful yell sometimes too...but it is usually after he eats... It is weird...like a roar of some kind. Could it be a male thing? Raja never does it. Keep checking his weight but if he is acting fine and he is eating, maybe he is just down to his fighting weight.
Do they loose weight in the heat of the summer? Just a thought....but keep checking him as you are doing...

Ginger lost 2oz. She was 10lbs even, now she's 9lbs 14oz. Maybe, the stress of the vacation.
I thought they should be gaining weight with the coming winter.

Oh that mournful noise. Pedro is the king of that. Almost always at night and he can go on for hours. He has done it for years but recently has been really vocal. Sounds like something from a horror movie. And of course if he is keeping me awake-it is a horror movie. Like someone (thing???) has replaced their nice meow with "something" else. Hmm, Halloween is right around the corner. BOO

I guess this is his bounce from the itty bitty green he had last night.

Nice green

Lucky was around 5kg at her ideal weight. JD is just over 6kg.
Rather than just weight look at this chart, gives an idea based on physical characteristics.

I wouldn't have expected him to put any winter weight on yet. Weather/temperature will play a part too.
Could also be that as your getting better regulation he's able to process his food better and not eating as much?

I wouldn't worry, just keep an eye on him. Weekly weigh in more than frequent enough to monitor.

Keep those preety numbers cute boy

Ouch JD-thought some magic nummers going on and here to stay.
Didn't you like my thoughts on your weight?

No, no news yet.Would easily get a job at Sea world right now!!!

Mind you-I'd probably sink!!

Sure you'll know cos I'll disappear from here.......

He was an 8 OBESE he looked like a steer, if you've ever seen one from the top looking down  My neighbor thought he was cute that way, like a big bear. Now, I think he's just under a 6 OVERWEIGHT and close to a 5 IDEAL. Maybe, it's cuz, normally during the week he gets the automatic feeder and lots of left out food, and while we were on vacation for 2 weeks he was meal fed because I was around. Anyway, I think he can stop losing weight.
