Had a power outage last night (posted in the last post from me on yesterday's thread). Was rather interesting testing in semi-darkness (NOT!!). However, I managed to get it done. I wanted to test her because it was a new pen last night, and didn't know what the new stuff would do. Always best to err on the side of caution... Just in case. The only concern that I had was the insulin in the fridge, but I think it was fine as I only opened the door once to get the food out and leave it out. the electricity was out for almost 2 hours. I have it set in a coffee can with bubble pack around it so that it wouldn't move while I opened the drawer.

Otherwise, Blackie's her usual 'tudy self this morning. At least 4 p's in place. Momma Bean's nursing some rather strong ~O) this morning.

Don't you just love testing those black kitties in the dark? Been there, done that, not fun.

Glad to see you and Blackie endured it and things look good this morning.

Black kitties in the dark = disaster. :lol: I have stepped on Tarragon many times in the dark. I can't imagine trying to test. I'm sure your insulin is fine if it was only a couple of hours.

The hurricane lamp was turned up enough to where I could see. :lol: I also looked for the shiny dot on the ear, and told her to hold still, and she did. She knew what I was doing, but was concerned about the lamp. :lol: You do whatcha gotta do, and because it was a new pen, I wanted to be sure I knew where she was.

I'm so glad that I listened this morning. :lol: No telling what she's got planned for me today. I don't anticipate that she'll drop much more than that, but.... She's known for a few surprises, especially when I "THINK" I've got her figured out.

Hi guys .. sorry to hear about the power outage last night .. I'm sure your pen was fine without power for a few hours .. the fridge probably kept a decent temp ... Nice to see blackie surfing those greens so well today .. have a great day guys!

Bummer on the power outage - no fun! Hard enough to test those black kitties, harder when it is dark. They always seem to know when we need them to cooperate - well done Blackie!
