Feeding Cats?

looking at the chart on fancy feast food classic pate
as per the chart ---they are 5.5 oz cans-----we have 3 oz cans here. Is this a typo? (It does say at the very beginning of the list 3oz cans--but the next page says 5.5 unless entered different.--do you think it was meant for all the fancy feast to be 3 oz cans.?
I think I have been underfeeding the cats -I split a can of 3 oz each feeding (twice a day)
they do have the core original right now--till it is gone.-free feed-not sure if other than Jack and Snickers (under duress) are eating it.
Not much is gone on a daily basis.
I read somewhere they need about 120-180 calories a day.
I don't think they make a 5.5 oz can in my area--Wisconsin.
Jack is overweight 17.3Lb
Phoebe is 10.7lb
Moosey 16 lb
Snickers---omg---i have to get a human scale and see if I can stand on it with him in my arms.--freaked out on the little scale.

Hi Eva the Fancy Feast classic pates inky come in 3 oz cans all of them
Are you sure you weren't looking at the Friskies pate?
I'll look later , waiting for a phone call
A guide you can use for ideal weigh
20 calories per pound of IDEAL weight as a guide. So what ever you think their ideal weight should be you times that by 20 and get how many calories to feed
I'll be back later to finish talking
@eva eva

Edit for example if Phoebe's ideal weight is 10.7 like you have listed above you would times that by 20
20x 10.7= 214 that's approximately how many calories she should be getting

Don't forget to fill in how many units of insulin you gave this morning :cat:
I know I'm a pain in the butt :p

you are not a pain! i appreciate all the help---my brain has little pauses once in a while---too many processes going on up there.

Yup--i am underfeeding them---I will do the math ---outside with me....have to finish the insulated entry today--then put it all together and cover with plastic.

You are amazing with all you do to take care of the kitties

riding high tonight. I can't honestly say I was in the house much today. I still have the 14% core down for them. It doesn't seem to be missing much (between 4 cats)
I change it out every 2 days--today was change day. maybe she ate some of that.
I am increasing the amount of moist that is around. I don't replace any of the dry unless it goes empty. changing it every 2 days to keep the nasties away.

I have figured out I am under feeding them. So, instead of sharing the one can of FF twice daily-between 2 cats--- I have increased it to 2 cans of FF twice daily between the 3 cats. ( I have started to make a bowl for snickers and put it near where he sleeps--with fortiflora on it and a few of the kibbles pressed into it. He licks and picks----he is a tough one.
Moosey has her own special diet.....till I am near out then I may see if she likes the weruva----low phosphorus. she is a chunk-- I split a 5 oz can on one day and then split a 3 oz can alternate days. she sneaks into the kibble then. but I don't stop her--as she needs a few more calories on the 3 oz can day.
i just don't know what more to do for snickers to get him off the dry. He is my skinny one. I have a scale now and am trying to see if he will last in my arms long enough for me to stand on the scale and read it. I got him and me on it---with struggling with him I am approximating him at 8 lbs.
