Off Topic: Shadow's doing ok. Still not seeing any poo action from her at all, and I'm beginning to wonder if the cancer has started to affect her bowels. Both DH and I have noticed that she's not able to swallow as well, or is having difficulty swallowing food... She tends to swallow the kibble whole instead of chewing it up a bit. Yesterday, she was more interested in Blackie's Evo than the kibble, so I fed her some Evo throughout the day. This morning, I gave her a small handful of her kibble from her bowl, and she ate it. I tried the Evo after about 1.5 hours, and she wasn't interested. She did drink a fair amount of water, though, which is good to see.

Earlier this morning, she was laying in her box, and reached out with her left leg towards me. I sat down on the floor, and she slowly came walking towards me, sat on my lap, and proceeded to patty cake my left leg. Lord knows how that kitten keeps her claws sharpened, but ouch!!! :lol: Even though all of my cats are adults, I still, and always will consider them to be kittens because deep down inside they're still kittens at heart, no matter the age.

I sat with her on my legs for about 10 minutes, and I cried hard again. I told her that I know she's feeling miserable, and is in pain. I told her that she'll be going Home on Saturday, and will be pain free.

As the dreaded day draws near, I'm finding it harder and harder to let go. I want to be selfish, but I can't. Not for her sake. I see the disease taking over her body each time I come in here to see/tend to her. Her right eye is 1/2 closed now and it weeps constantly, and yesterday DH noticed that the mass behind her right ear seems to have grown a bit, which is pushing her ear a bit up and out. Thankfully, the incision that the vet made to get the biopsy has completely closed up, and isn't oozing anymore. I'll try another warm water bath with the Dawn antibacterial dish soap today to try and get more of the gunk off her neck, and hopefully make her feel a bit better.

Thank you for your continued support, hugs, prayers, etc. We all truly appreciate them very much.

Angela, I know it's hard, but you're doing the best thing for Shadow. Just love her as much as you can until Saturday.

Hi Angela - glad to hear all is well with Blackie. I know thinking about this weekend is torturous, but you know you are making the right decision. It really is a gift to be able to give peace to the suffering, I wish we could do it for people!! Hang in there - I'll be praying for you guys.

Thank you. I'm doing the best that I can. I'm not even hungry, but I know I have to keep my strength up. I've lost about 5 lbs. since this began, but I don't care. My focus is on Shadow right now, and that's all that matters to me.

I think Blackie's a bit stressed out because of this, and twice now she's made a move towards the office door, which resulted in her getting wet from the spray bottle. Tiny, one of her daughters, was being a pest in the beginning, and she also got the spray bottle. Since then, they've stayed away, but the bottle's at the ready just in case. I don't need anyone coming near her, and vice versa.

Angela, I'm so so sorry for the pain you're feeling now.
The waiting is almost unbearable, once the decision is made.
Even though it's the only way to free Shadow, from pain and suffering, you are helping her, with love and compassion.

Tell her everything you feel. Let her know, she is taking your love with her, to her new friends.

Hi guys .. Angela, I just want to say I'm so sorry for what you and your DH and Shadow are all going through .. I can understand the selfish part, as I have been there a few times in the past myself .. ((hugs)) Treasure what time you have left with her ..

I'm so sorry you and Shadow are having to go thru this :cry: :cry: It is sooooo hard to have to wait. But you really are giving her a gift. She will soon be feeling great and running and playing with all the other wonderful kitties at The Bridge. I wish I could be there to give you a big hug :YMHUG: Cherish every minute with her and you are in my prayers ♥♥
