Little disappointed with this morning but maybe a bounce?

He has starred drinking water out of his water bowls. This is a new behavior. He is also has increased output. Little concerned. He isn't sitting/hunched drinking, just drinking for 10 seconds or so but frequently.

I tested a a few days ago and ketones were neg but I am concerned maybe a UTI? Would ketones show increased if there was just an infection?

Does he normally not drink water? Bubba never drinks water except right before he was DX with FD. Not too long ago I saw him at the water bowl a few times and it concerned me. Hope it's nothing to worry about.

Not normally, though I don't "see" the water bowl in the master bedroom so unless he is drinking when I am going to bed I wouldn't know it. I rarely see him drinking from the water bowl next to his feeder. He has been drinking from both the past couple of weeks. I add plenty of water to his food so the drinking is on top of that.

He does not appear to be dehydrated. I checked Tanya's site and it lists dehydration, kidney infection, Hypercalcaemia and stomach acid.

He is due for BW and annual physical I am just trying to wait until my vet reopens (their office was destroyed by the floods). The vets are practicing in other offices but "medical cases only" Not sure what that means.

Nice PMPS! I hope your vet office opens ASAP. When they do something out of the ordinary, it is always a red flag but, since his numbers aren't hiking up, it could be a good sign but ,stay vigilant. You are a good bean and caregiver. Trust your instincts. Mine have served me well.

How is Gizmo's weight? Stable? Water consumption by Neko sometimes meant nausea. Or if it was warm out. Might want to phone the other offices and see what counts as "medical". It should be pretty easy to get b/w done. And hopefully put your mind at rest.

I am actually trying (and succeeding) putting a little weight on him. He is at 10.13 1/2#'s as of today. On 08/02 (when I got my home scale and started tracking it) he was at 10.8 1/2#'s.

Water consumption by Neko sometimes meant nausea.

And that could be it - we just went through a pretty bad panc. flare.
