Good morning LL from Miou and bean

Miou hates testing more and more everyday. Although for a long time now she has a small meal after tests, I started giving her a treat of boiled chicken which she loves. I hope it works eventually as we will have to test even if OTJ and I don't want to be getting stress spiked results.

Of course it could be my stress levels mirrored by Miou, as things are changing and I am trying to lay out a better plan.
OTJ trial coincides with the beginning of the school year @Tai Chi. I will have to be out of home for long hours as this year apart from being an instructor's assistant for the intermediate classes, I will be teaching a small group of beginners all by myself, and I will have my own practice too.

I know it's ok to have an occasional blue here and there, but I am not sure if it's ok to go on with OTJ trial after this mornings AMPS at 115. What do you think?

So if we go on with an OTJ trial afterall,is there anything else I should take care of, aside frequent small meals, and testing AMBG and PMBG ?

Re: 09/16 Miou AMPS=115 one cycle before OTJ trial

115 is still within the normal range. Let's see how the day plays out. I wish you and Miou the best of luck

Thanks Dyana! I am in great anticipation... nailbite_smile
see y'all later /getting ready for 1st day of classes

So tonight Miou had her last shot, and tomorrow we start her OTJ trial
I know she should have frequent small meals, and I have been doing that already.
I also know I should be testing AMBG and PMBG every day. But that is all I know!
Is there anything else that should be done? Any suggestions, any guidelines for OTJ?

Here are the instructions:

•Test at your normal AMPS and PMPS times. Feed multiple small meals throughout the day as much as possible (small meals are less likely to overwhelm a newly functioning pancreas).

•If Miou is green at your normal test times, no need to test further until the next "PS" time, just feed small meals and go about your day. If she is blue, feed a small meal and test again after about 3 hours. If her number is lower 3-4 hours after a meal, then her pancreas is working!

•If, after 2 weeks Miou has stayed in normal numbers, we have a party!

Sometimes the trial doesn't work the first time and we have to give a little more support in the form of resuming insulin. It's not the end of the world if that happens, we just give her the support she needs. Our goal is a strong remission and it's better to take our time to get that than to rush into remission just to have it fail later on.

Congratulations and Good Luck!!!!!!
