Yesterday's recap
AMPS=98
+5=80
+8=76
PMPS=81
+3=72

I am really sorry for skipping all day yesterday!But the connection problems started again. I was most of the morning on the phone with the provider but the problem persisted untill this morning.
Anyway, Miou is doing very well, and the past 2 days in general is in good mood, just running away when I approach her for a test :lol:
I started a new pen today, and hopefully I will use very little of it ;-) :mrgreen:
We still have 7 cycles before going into OTJ trial.

I hope you all are doing well and wish you a green day :-D

Hi Elsa...looking at Miou's SS, she may not be running from the glucometer much longer--she is really doing awesome on such a teeny, tiny dose! A new pen can be a powerful thing. Will you be around today to monitor her? Please, closely monitor her today Be sure to get a lot of tests done today.

And she MAY not need 7 more cycles; her nadir will dictate how many more injections she needs. Worth saying, just in case she goes too low, but I'm sure you have it covered: Is your hypo kit ready? Can you get another test in say, an hour or two, at the most?

Also, Elsa: What brand/variety of food are you feeding her? What do you have on hand (low carb, medium carb and high carb)???

I just did a test she is at 74. And I will be monitoring her again. The hypo kit is ready with 2 cans of HC (gravy-based) food, and honey.
It' a few days now that I am feeding her about 30 gr of LC every 2 hours to encourage her pancreas, that might not allow her go hypo... but again one never knows, right?
The LC brand is Kippy and its an italian brand with a logical price too. It is listed in the thread for the European food list. I sometimes add a bit Leonardo chicken too as it is pricey and I can't feed that only.
The HC is Gourmet liver and chicken in gravy, by Purina and its the equivalent of Fancy feast if I am not mistaken.

Correct! One never does know when their kitty decides to dive towards unsafe numbers. Awesome that you are testing often. Feeding every 2 hours is an excellent idea; it does help to encourage their little pancreas' to start working better. When Gobbles was getting close to his OTJ trial, I had to fight to keep him in safe, green numbers. I fed him low, and medium, carb quite often. If you look at his SS, starting on 4/23/13, he decided to run down the dosing ladder! I monitored him very carefully and lost a lot of sleep--but it was well worth it; by 5/16/13, he had his last dose of insulin. His reductions were quite sudden and often, but ECID; a lot of kitties take much longer; "baby steps" to their OTJ Trial. I could have held his doses longer, but I was fighting to keep him safe, I know my cat better than anyone, and based on nadirs and feeding, I adjusted dosing (and got great advice/opinions from the wonderful members and Advisors here at FDMB!!)

Yeap! It seems she is indeed on a mission and it's not impossible ;-)

Thanks Elsa! He was running down that ladder so fast, momma here had a hard time keeping up with him. I just took a peek at Miou's SS, and see she's dipped to 53 at PM+2, and her AM cycle was quite flat. I believe the new pen must have kicked in this evening...well, probably. I know she's in good hands as you are a diligent tester. If she was my cat, I would definitely get a PM+3..please keep your condo updated, as I'd like to keep an eye on the two of you, if that's okay...?

Re: 09/13 Miou AMPS=70 +2=68 +6=74 +11=83

Maybe she will sneak under 50 this time.. and then you know what that means!! Although she was getting there anyway!!! touch wood anti jinx

The new pen showed it's effect indeed.
She had a dip at +2 at 53. It is food time after her +2 test, so yes she had her usual 30gr LC. And when I tested her, I let her have some more food, after all she was actually begging for it. She climbed to 65 @+3 and eventually reached 78 @+4.
Miou generally handles low numbers very well, and her never ending appetite helps me bring her up safely lol
I didn't do bad either. It was the first time I didn't feel any stress with Miou going so close to 50...
It is so moving to find out that you were keeping an eye for me here... Thank you so much!
Time to get some sleep...

You're so welcome. I hope you got some rest :-D Elsa, you are doing F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S !!!! And so is Miou!!! I noticed that when Gobbles was low, he usually seemed hungrier. There was a time once though, when he was in the 40s, that he absolutely did not want to eat. I tried the 3 different flavors of HC I had on hand and just about everything else under the sun, but he wasn't having it....so I had to get the syrup out. Lesson learned: to keep more flavors of HC on hand. That's great that Miou handles the lower numbers well, but you just never know, Elsa--she's a cat and sometimes they'll do the exact opposite of what you think they might do or that they usually do. You've nothing to worry about though because you take such care getting lots of tests! And good for you having a stress-less low sugar moment!
