WCR: Blackie threw up before her PMPS test, hence the higher #. Don't know where that 144 came from as she threw up before that. Could be a higher prelude to throwing up #, or she could be sensing my stress again, too. I picked up Shadow and got home at around that time, so it may be because I was rushing around. Who knows. Just hoping that my fuds experiment with her is the right choice.

Shadow update: Called the vet's office at around 11:10 a.m., and was on hold for about 5 minutes while the person got the vet. Surgery went well, and the biopsy was taken. I asked if she was still the same, and he said that she was. She did very well under the anesthesia, and I was glad to hear that. I was told to come and get her anytime after 2:00 p.m.

I left here at around 2:25 p.m. to go and get her. When I arrived, I wanted to see her, but wasn't allowed to do so as there was nobody available to take me back there. I kept my cool, and sat in the waiting room. It was probably about 1/2 or so later that a vet tech came out with her in the carrier. She started to move around, and she was very wobbly... More than likely it was the combination of the lump and the anesthetic. Before we left the clinic, I asked the receptionist when we'll be hearing back with the results, and she told me that they usually Fedex overnight, and get the results back mid to late afternoon the day (we were told about a week by the vet).

We left the clinic, and I had the a/c going in the truck. I didn't want her to get too hot, however as we got closer to home, I turned the a/c down from the really cold setting to a slightly warmer setting (she's an outdoor kitty, unfortunately). When we got home, I removed her from the truck, put her on the porch, went inside to quickly fix her a meal, came back outside, opened the carrier, quickly grabbed her and put her on her box to eat. She ate a bit, but wanted to hide. I picked her up, put her on the porch, and watched her try to wobble away. She managed to go down the steps without falling off either side. I was holding my breath. She darted straight under the truck, and towards the shed where I tried to block her (DH doesn't want her in there, although he cut a hole in the door for her when he first built it). She slipped past the blockade and stayed in the shed, which was a bit too warm.

Later that evening, DH came home, and I told him where she was. It was after dinnertime that he opened the door to the shed, and we were able to get her out of there. She darted under the porch to her favorite spot. I fixed her a bowl of wet food, sat down on the steps, tapped the bowl, swatted at mosquitoes, picked her up and put her on my lap and fed her. She laid on my lap for a good 1/2 hour despite the heat and humidity. I knew she wanted her momma bean, and to feel secure again after such an ordeal the previous night. I put some Neosporin with Pain Relief on her wound, but after looking at this morning, I should've gave it a squirt of peroxide to help clean it better, which I'll be doing in a wee bit this morning. Not sure if I should continue with the Neosporin as it's humid here, and it may keep it too moist, which may cause bacteria to set in. I think peroxide would be a better choice, at least to clean it.

Now, I wait for the doctor to call me later today with regards to the biopsy results. I've made an tentative appointment for tomorrow morning at 9:20, in case it's malignant. If it's benign, then we'll be going from there. I'll be asking the vet what the best course of action would be, and what her prognosis is for the rest of her natural life. I need to put aside my selfish feelings, and do what's right for her. If it comes down to it, and she'll no longer be with us, then at least we gave her 4 years of a wonderful loving home, a box outside to shelter her from the elements complete with a pillow, and a heating pad for the cold winter days, and food/water, and companionship. That's a lot more than what her previous owners ever done for her sans the food/water.

MY WISH: For God to help heal the broken hearts of those who lost a beloved pet and/or human... For God to help those ailing make a full and speedy recovery... For everyone to have great #s... For everyone to be OTJ.

Morning Angela ~O) ~O) ~O)

I too hope Blackie feels better soon, they are so sensitive/intuitive to what we as beans are feeling, perhaps that is the cause.

Many many healing vines doe Shadow. I hope for good test results too. Waiting is so hard. It's good she is back home with you.

Re: 09/13 Blackie AMPS 128, +1 162 (Shadow Update; Wait on N

Hi Angela,
We are sending all our most positive thoughts for Shadow. I hope you will hear good news about the biopsy. Instead of using peroxide to clean the wound, try a can of first-aid saline solution for wound cleaning (available in all drug stores). Peroxide on a wound is now considered to do more harm than good. If you plan to use Neosporin, the Neosporin creme will allow the wound to breathe better than the Neosporin ointment.

Lots of hugs and scritches. I hope Blackie is OK. She may just be upset.

Ella & Rusty

Thank you, ladies.

+1 162 - 32g Evo 95% C&T
+2 103 - 25g Evo 95% C&T

+1 - 32g Evo 95% C&T
+2 110 - 25g Evo 95% C&T

I just had a good hard cry. I'm sure that's not going to be the last one. If they don't call by 4:30, I'm going to call them and find out if they have the results back. I have patience for most things. This isn't one of them.

Hi Angela - just wanted to stop by and wish you and the kitties well. Sending out prayers for Shadow - hope the test results come back well and she gets feeling better soon.

Hope you guys have a great day!

Re: 09/13 Blackie AMPS 128 +1 162 +2 103 (Shadow; Wait on Ne

Angela,

I think the receptionist was confused. It's usually blood work results that are back in a day - Jesse's biopsy results took a week (and his sample was overnighted to Colorado).

I wish I was there to hold your hand - the waiting is the worst part, although I knew what Jesse's results would be.
I pray that Shadow will get good results! :YMHUG:

Dilute the peroxide as 1) it stings and 2) if too strong, may impede wound healing.

We're still sending tons of prayers for sweet little Shadow....
