09/12 Fistuk AMPS 338, +2.5 338

So... Fistuk has eaten tiny amounts by himself. Enough for a small bird ;) The rest with the syringe which he was not happy about at all.

He was tiny bit more alert in the morning. But really just a drop. he's gone back to bed and I'll feed him again at +1.5.

It looks like when he's already up and moving a bit, he'll go to the toilet box. But at night when he gets up for pee it might be too far for him. Though I put toilet boxes in every room he mostly use them as a resting point :woot: At night I carried him to the box and he peed there.

I just wrote to the homoeopathic vet who helped him before with the upper respiratory chronic infection he had. I asked her if she could help with appetite and nausea and perhaps the neuropathy.

The so-called holistic vet from England I made an appointment to consult with came out like another patriarchal, arrogant male who made no effort to apologise when I said that making a comment such as "you can't believe everything you read on the internet" without even inquiring about my sources or knowing anything about me really.

So, hoping the 5unit will do something.

I gave Fistuk some of the liver treat he loves so much. Yesterday he didn't want to look at it. But this morning he licked from the tube enthusiastically. So I was wondering why that and suspected it may have to do something with fat. The treat has 27.7% fat! I checked a few times the analytics, it has 2% carb and 302cal per 100g. But it's a treat, not something I can give as food. But perhaps Fistuk does need food with more fat to be more interested. I'll go to the shot now and see what I can find

I think cottage cheese is quite high in lactose so is probably not a good choice.
A better choice are hard cheeses like cheddar or Parmesan.
My Harry’s favourite food is cheese. I only give him small amounts though.
What about some cooked egg? Scrambled or omelette?
I’d never think of giving him cheese but it’s in one of the tins in the list so I thought better check
Egg is an interesting idea. He normally likes sitting in my lap when I have egg for breakfast so I can try

what about added pumpkin when in the tin?

My Harry loves egg cooked or uncooked…although I wouldn’t give Fistuk uncooked egg at this stage. He almost begs me to feed him some of my egg if I am having one. Eggs are very nutritious and an excellent food for cats in moderation.
You could sprinkle Parmesan cheese or any hard cheese grated on his food or on its own. Too much cheese can give loose poops.
Pumpkin can be given …I would not give more than a teaspoon at a time though.

I found food!!! that's higher fat and 7% carb.
He ate very happily. But at a certain point he stopped and I need to see if this enthusiasm and eating by himself continues. in any case it's a relief bc it 127cal per 100g so it's less chasing and pushing syringes if he doesn't eat.
Maybe he's like his mummy, love high fat food :woot:

I can imagine your Harry eating his egg with delight :woot:
Ill def give it a go. Very good to know about cheese bc he really like it. Something else he looooooves is butter which I avoided giving him since diagnosis bc I didn't know if it's ok.

The pumpkin was in the mix in the tin. i found another tin that doesn't have it so I think it's best

Butter is not really good for cats although Harry got stuck into the butter when I left it out on the counter uncovered a couple of times. He and a lovely time licking it. He had no ill effects from it fortunately.
I would try sprinkling some cheese on some food and see if he will eat it.

Great to hear he is eating some on his own. Who doesn’t love high fat food!
