Hi LL!

Just wondering - Java is dropping into blue very quickly tonight.......we haven't had a blue before +8 before, so I'm wondering if we should give a little HC just to slow him down a bit?

Also, his liver is likely to have a fit going this low this quick so would a little HC help tame the quivery liver?

Or is this just what needs to happen?

Charlene and Java of the quivery liver!

It's a pretty fast drop. You might want to give Java a "snack" of low carb food to slow things down. I'd get another test at +4 so you know what's going on.

Hey Sienne, thank you!!!

+4 was 122! He's dropping like a rock! Will try feed him now and see what we have in another 30 :)

Holy green balls......from pink to green @+5..........I think Java's hand break is broken or his liver is asleep!

Fed LC at +4, which has slowed him up a little. Nadir normally around +8-8.5 so a few hours to go! Sheesh cat!

Depending on how low he goes, what do I do in the morning? Do I shoot if he is below 200?

If this were my kitty (and Gabby is well know for these kinds of cliff dives), I'd retest in 30 min. If numbers are still dropping, feed some HC -- a small amount -- to encourage a surf.

Also, could you update your subject line with the most recent numbers? I'm at work and won't be able to check back in. You may want more folks keeping an eye out on your condo.

Re: 09/09 - Java PMPS 328 +5.5 81 Huge drop!

Hey Sienne

Thanks for dropping back in. We are testing every 30 minutes and have just had a slight increase drom 75 to 81. Java is not interested in food as I LC'd him at +4. We are about 2.5 hours from nadir so will keep going. Tom will keep trying with gravy :).

We have glucose on standby if needed :)

Ratbag kitty!!

Mannie too was also known for these kind of drops: fast and huge. I did exactly what you are doing: test every 30 minutes, feed the gravy, You don't need the food portion, just the gravy, that alone is enough, as the carbs are in the gravy. You're on the right track. Surf well Java!

I too won't be able to check back, but wnated to add my 2 cents. Good luck!

just a little tip, you want to dole out the food or gravy a teaspoon at a time when you're "steering" numbers.

that way you'll keep Java hungry and wanting to eat when you need him to eat.
