AMPS=199 :(

Am hoping this is just his normal NDW. Still eating good. Hasn't come to bed with me in 3 nights. That usually means he isn't feeling well. Will give pain meds @ +2 (gave MMR at AMPS). Small poo overnight (I'll take what I can get). Adding a bit extra water to his food. I have caught him drinking from his water bowls a couple times over the past few days. Not sure what else to do. Maybe a Ondansteron? I also have Cerenia? Open to any and all suggestions.

Prayers for Florida. The fans didn't seem to help.

Hoping Gizmo feels better. Poor monkey, I wonder what is troubling him. Whatever it is I hope it passes quickly. I sometimes forget that when my kitties are a little off they too sometimes get little colds or just feel blah like us and are back to themselves in a few days. :bighug:

+2=159

Got 0.3mL of Torb and a 1/2 pill of Ondansteron in him. I forgot - the other day I grabbed a couple small cans of fish based food (Soulistic Double Happiness) to "mask" the flavor/texture of meds. I just mixed a Canna capsule into about 1 Tablespoon of it and will give it to him after his +2.5 snack.

He has been sleeping since tfs this morning but in the living room with me (vs. his favorite spot in the den/isolating) so that is promising. I think if I can get the pain broke we might be on the right track. I am going to be pretty aggressive on that today. Another pain dose @ 12:30p (6 hours) and then another tonight - will play it by ear with the Canna and Ondan. When I was mixing up the fish/canna he showed up in the kitchen looking all interested - lol. His MC has fish and he loves it so I am hopeful. I may put it in his "special bowl" - I use a different bowl for giving MC/steering food and have always acted like it was a real treat - so if ever he isn't eating well I have that "special" bowl to physic him out with - lol.

I think it is a pancreatitis flare. The last one was short lived (5 days?) so am hoping this will pass soon. He is still eating and hasn't thrown up (good signs) so all I can do is manage it. I think we may be about to turn the corner on is - just a gut feeling based on passed experiences.

Prayers and hugs to you and Gizmo , Lizzie .....and continued prayers for Texas and Florida . The earth sure is groaning .

Purrs for Gizmo and you.
In your boots, I'd go to cerenia. It reduces inflammation and seems to have anti-nausea properties. Maybe try some Ondansteron first to be sure that Giz can keep down the Cerenea. I'm just suggesting what has worked for my TiTi. ECID, as you well know. :)

Thank you. Not having issues with keeping anything down. Seems to be doing a bit better. He met me at the door when I got home from the store (yay).

Any "rules" on when to give the two meds? Before/after food? I did the Ondan this morning and may try the Cerenea this evening. Planning on giving at +2, which is 30 min before his +2.5 snack. Is that ok?

I understand many are having great success using CBD with pancreatitis
That is what Canna is. It is in powder form vs oil. It comes in a capsule and I mix it with his food.

He will get another tonight :cool:

Thank you all. Fingers crossed he us turning the corner.

I didn't know there were rules. I've been giving it right before a meal, and then feeding TITI. But my only purpose was to ensure that the cerenea did not stick in her throat. And it has been working.

I don't either - that's why I was asking. Someone posted that one pill needed to be given 30 min separate from another but I think that was the appetite stimulant (I would need to go back and look). I use a medicine dropper (not a syringe type but a dropper type) with water. Drop the pill in the back of his throat and then dribble the water in the side of his mouth/cheek and he will swallow. I do that a couple of times and he is done. For as big of a PITA as he is about other things he is surprisingly easy to pill.

Got 1/2 of the Cerenia in him. He will eat his +2.5 snack in about 20 min and then I will give him the Canna and then the pain meds. He is definitely feeling better - whether that is the pain meds (etc.) or the flare subsiding - IDK. I will keep on with this for a day more and then see what his numbers are like on Sunday.

Good!. I think that they are related. If the pain subsides, some of the inflammation is probably going to subside as well, because pain is an irritant. I wish TITI were so easy to pill. She is not, and I have a few deep puncture wound scars to prove it.:arghh:

I agree.

:oops::banghead:

But don't even try to trim his nails or mess with his feet. You will suffer his rath - lol The poor tech that trimmed his nails the last time ended up bleeding from his elbows down.
