09/02-??-PHOEBE-i have to leave town iafter next am dose.-need help with dosing.--amps-315, +5--312

I just got called out on an assignment. I will be gone after 09/03 am dosing. Should she stay at 2 units while I am gone? ( she was going to be evaluated to adjust after 09/02) I get home on Monday night. She will get 4 more doses of the 2 unit glargine dose. Is this ok? Or should something else be done. not really sure of what to do.
thanks for help in advance. (unfortuately, I have to draw all 4 doses up prior to leaving as my kitty caregiver is unable to do this--she doesn't test either).

It looks like 2.0 should be fine. You can’t show her how t draw up 2.0 or leave a sample of colored water?

I have tried to show her and do a return demo with her. Her vision isn't that good. She has a heart of gold. She cares for my 4 indoor and 4 ferals outside. but she gets very nervous when I ask about drawing up the insulin. Her hands shake to give the insulin. And I had to reshow her how to use the glargine syringe versus the 40U syringe. I have even thought of taking Phoebe with me---but I am afraid it would stress Phoebe out.

I will continue with the 2 units of glargine---I will draw up the insulin right before I leave. 4 doses. It is not ideal. I get home before her Monday evening dose and will get back on schedule.

I am so grateful for your help. Thank-you again.

FWIW, I’ve had to pre-draw insulin syringes to leave for a caretaker so understand completely. In our case, everything was fine. Sometimes we do what we have to do, even if not ideal. Given the circumstances, I think leaving prefilled syringes is probably the lesser of evils (I’d do the same thing).

Is Phoebe eating and feeling better now? No more vomiting?

Yes, thank-you. I gave her 1 -2 kibble bits (party mix original) just to see if she would be ok yesterday and then she ate good for dinner.
